Christmas expectations --
A time of joy with Christmas shopping and plans for the coming year. We think in terms of happiness and peace in the world, but, are we truly seeking what is good for ourselves and for those around us?

A high percentage of us who live in America and other first world countries see the world as a place of hope and fond memories. Are our expectations real or focused on what is no more than the shadow of personal desires? As a people we do not either understand or want to accept the many tragedies that exist around us. We buy greeting cards and presents. We decorate the inside of our houses or apartments and many even do the same for the outside of their dwelling places.

Perhaps we throw a dime or a quarter or maybe even a dollar into a poor box or a Salvation Army collection bucket. It makes us feel good to do this and we say to ourselves, "I am a very generous person. I gave when I didn't have to. God bless me and the many people who are helped by the generous contribution to the poor which I have just made."

Are we being realistic or are we living in a fairy tale world of our own choosing? Are we wearing blinders or just living in a state of avoidance in regard to what is going on around us? Have we learned the difference between human love and spiritual love? Are toys and Christmas trees and gifts what the world is truly about?

In this country alone well over a million people each year never see the light of day. Many live for only a few hours, or at most a few weeks, yet the amount of concern which is shown, in regard to the most innocent of human beings, is rarely more than of spoken word which amounts to no more than an offhand comment. Our hearts are focused upon ourselves and those who are in some way associated with our own well being. Our hardened hearts, made of stone, deny the creative intent of Almighty God. These hearts are concerned with their own living space. There seems to be no room in this world for those who can't protect their own rights. This is true particularly if they are unseen by the human eye. Such innocent people are at the mercy of the many who have placed eternal life in the background. They say, by word and deed, "Eternity is all well and good to think about for the future, but for now my daily deeds are for the present concerns of life and I intend to let the future take care of itself.

The following are new words to a well known melody. They were written by a man who has for many years found the time to be present outside abortion mills in order to deter women and even young girls from destroying themselves and their natural relationship with God. Try to sing the words while sensing the meaning of the message they are conveying. The melody is from the well known Christmas tune, "O' Holy Night." Recordings by individuals with a good voice or by an organized group would be greatly appreciated.

"O' Unborn Child"

1.
Oh unborn child, life is there inside you
It's soon the time for you to be born
While you await, a sinning world makes choices
Your parents say that you must die
You're put to death, you've known no love or mercy
the pain was great for nothing you had done.
Oh unborn child -
My Christ, the baby Jesus
Forgive us - We know not what we do.
Oh child - oh unborn child
Oh, oh, oh child of Thine.

2.
Oh barren womb, you've killed your only children
The hope of man for years yet to come
They were that child that found that cure for cancer
The president that brought the world to peace.
The butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker,
the doctor the priest...
all wise and Godly men.
Why did they die -
why did they suffer so?
Abortion - the death before you're born.
Oh Lord, my God
My Lord, Oh oh oh my God.

Hymn written with love to an Unwanted, Unborn Child
by John T. Cain

Scripture has it that a woman's salvation is through the bearing of children. Even a child conceived in sin has an eternal relationship with God. No one has the moral right to choose to kill someone who has the right to call God their Father. The divinely created soul is immortal from the moment of conception. God the Father is the only one who has the right to terminate the mortal life of one of His innocent children.

Even from a non-religious point of view it should be understood that a woman who kills or has her child killed has gone against her own nature. Every young girl is aware at a very early age that she is designed to bear children. Her physical and psychological being is directed toward this end. A woman's desires, unless they have been destroyed by some form of severe abuse, are geared to the bearing and rearing of children. Even women who have been misdirected concerning human goals and values will, at least in time, develop a strong desire to produce a child through their own bodies. Unfortunately many women are putting off this great and special life experience until it is too late.

Imagine for a moment a woman with strong and undeniable natural desires. Desires which are powerful enough to draw her close enough to a man to have a relationship with him which leads to pregnancy. By nature a woman is intently focused on human relationships. Consider then her feelings, her reactions when she realizes that the child -- her own child which has part of her own genetic code and came into existence within her own body -- has been cruelly killed inside its own special home in her womb. This dreadful feeling will exist even if the child's death was not fully her own choice. The sickening feeling and at least some degree of self-condemnation will continue to exist until the day she dies. When she has passed her period of denial she will recognize that she is a murderess of the worst order. She has had the product of her own flesh murdered. Note: The normal woman experiences a period of denial for an average of eighty-one months. Even during this period of time many women begin using drugs and alcohol to ward off the uncomfortable feeling that has been developed within themselves. Their bodies have gone through an unnatural experience. The body already knows what the mind is denying.

In time the vast majority of women, even though it may be twenty or more years later, come to realize and accept the dreaded hidden event from their past. Twenty-eight percent of these women who have come to regret their abortions attempt suicide. Half of this number will attempt suicide more than once. The study from which these figures are taken found that thirty-six percent of the women surveyed described themselves as having become self-destructive after the abortion, and twenty percent reported having a subsequent nervous breakdown, with ten percent reporting subsequent hospitalization for psychiatric care. I know of no statistics which are available as to how many abortive women have actually succeeded in committing suicide. The dead tell no tales. Those who have worked with post abortive women for a number of years are aware of many who have prematurely left this life.

There are many other physical and psychological consequences to abortion not the least of which is the general degrading of the value of human life. This form of degradation is spreading like cancer throughout society. The contemporary value of life in American society today can only be properly related to that which now exists and has existed in pagan societies. What does this say about our nation which is commonly recognized as the greatest nation on earth today?

Consider what has happened to the great societies of the past who each in their turn came to devalue human life. These societies have all come to a bad end. Will our society be any better off? When will the deserved end come?

We have been preparing for the Christmas holidays but we have lost sight of the true meaning of Christmas. Christ came into this world to serve His brothers and sisters. On a mass scale we are destroying His brothers and sisters. We are celebrating His birth at the same time we are killing or allowing to be killed great numbers of His brothers and sisters. Who is being served by our celebrating this otherwise special season? Surely not Jesus or His Father or the Holy Spirit. Who then are we serving and for how long? How shallow we are when we say to another, "Merry Christmas" and do not recognize the feelings of God in regard to our innocent brothers and sisters in the womb.

Our misguided nation --
In a recent newspaper story it was revealed that Richard and Helen Brown choose to take their own lives so they could give their $10 million fortune to charity rather than spend it on medical bills.

Joycelyn Elders resigned her surgeon general's post under pressure after she stated publicly that she might advocate having the subject of masturbation as part of the school sex education curriculum.

The Catholic Church calls masturbation an "intrinsically and gravely disordered action." There are however some priests and even bishops who disagree with the Church's position. A recent news article by Eddie Curran states: "`A means of self pleasuring ... generally appropriate and healthy,' according to Lutherans." Many Lutherans would strongly disagree with this generalized statement.

Another news reporter, Deborah Mathis, in making an effort to defend Elders wrote, "Of course she meant teaching about it, not teaching it. Which is to say, physiology, not technique; the why so, not the how so." Ms. Mathis apparently does not understand how the human imagination functions.

Too few seem to understand that proper sexual activity is ordered toward the begetting of children, not for unrestrained sexual pleasure. The learning and practicing of self control is absolutely necessary for all who desire to have a positive relationship with God either in this life or in the next. Further, as many women will attest, the ability of men to use self restraint during a designated portion of the natural female cycle enhances the marriage relationship.

Young children today have a better understanding of the whys and how to's of sex than do their grandparents. Is society better today with children having this knowledge than in days past when so many were ignorant concerning sexual matters? Radio, television, magazines, newspapers, government, and now even our schools both public and private are promoting sexual activity. Our primal instincts are difficult enough to control without them constantly being sensually brought to our attention. When a pile of candy is placed in front of a child and he is told not to eat any, do we really expect that if the child is left alone long enough that at least some of the candy will not be tasted and then eaten?

When not only the media, but government and religions are in a high state of disorder, can we truly expect to have a condition of peace on earth? Do we really think that the prevalent condition of human weakness of society has any chance of reversing itself when torrid weakness exists at all levels?

Comments, notes, questions, comics and other useful graphics will be greatly appreciated. I hope to soon be establishing a computer bulletin board service (BBS) which may be used for the exchange of documents and graphics pertinent to the anti abortion movement and various religious concerns. More on this in our next issue.

Contributions (a tithe from those who do not have pastors acknowledging the equality of the unborn with the born and actively defending our innocent brothers and sisters in the womb) are needed in order for this ministry to be sustained and grow. Human life at all stages of growth is important to God and should be important to each one of us.

Many thanks to all who have contributed in the past. Your continued support is needed and valued. Since October of 1993 I have been without source of income because of my stand in defense of the unborn. I have been reliant upon borrowing and some free will gifts. If you desire your donations to be tax deductible please make your check to Life Enterprises Unlimited (or LEU). If you know of others who would be interested in receiving this newsletter, please list their names and addresses on a separate sheet and mail it at your earliest convenience.

Merry Christmas to all of you who have a real and/or growing sensitivity to God's unborn children. A special Mass will be said for you and your families during these coming holidays. Another Mass will be said for all others that they will seek God's mercy before it is too late.

sincerely in Christ,
