Oneness of the Holy Trinity
Explanation of the Identity of the Members of the Most Holy Trinity,
the Godhead that consists of three independent intellectual beings
existing in perfectly harmonious relationship, or, oneness.
A Theological Presentation on the Natures and Procession of the Trinity
God the Father, unrestricted, unlimited, unconstrained (not contained), is universal by nature. He is the being necessary for all other existence. His identity is unparalleled. He exists without the necessity of other forms of existence. However, without the existence of Jesus His Son He does not have motivation or purpose.
The Son of God (by eternal generation) is universal by extension. He is in an unlimited number of locations simultaneously. His identity (form of existence) is diametric to that of God the Father. His form (separate nature) of existence requires the existence of God the Father but is an uncreated being. However, utility of existence, via relationship with God the Father, would be non-functional without the existence of the Holy Ghost.
The Holy Ghost, the eternally transitional being, is universal by association, a spiration eternally initiated by reason of the existence of God the Father and the only natural Son. His is a functional relationship between God the Father and other forms of existence. His identity is differentiated from both the Father and the Son. The Holy Ghost would not exist without the existence of both God the Father and the Son. His spirated, but uncreated existence is necessary due to the totally different forms (identifying natures) of existence of the Father and the Son.
- The existence of God the Father is requisite for all other existence.
- The existence of the Son of God gives purpose, reason for, and meaning to all other existence.
- The existence of the Holy Ghost is necessary for all association and activity.
While God the Father is primary in creation, both His Son and the Holy Ghost are necessary for creation to take place.
(Gn. 1:26 Then God said: "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness." The terms image and likeness refer to the extrinsic nature of each person of the Holy Trinity which is directly associated with their individual spiritual nature [spiritual attributes: intelligence, cognition, reason, ability to resolve, wisdom, free will]. The essential nature of each human is spiritual.)
Each person/being of the Holy Trinity is 100% necessary for all other existence. They are individually and collectively essential beings acting in perfect harmony/agreement with eternal purposes but different in form of existence and operation. The perfection of their happiness and the sustaining thereof is dependent upon harmonious activity based upon mutual trust and love that is the product of absolute wisdom. The Trinity collectively, is God. Each member of the Trinity has independent free will acting in harmony with the other two members for eternal goals that coalesce. Each person of the Holy Trinity recognizes and accepts the necessity of 100% agreement and harmony for the accomplishment of the eternal good. Lesser intelligent beings must come to spiritual perfection (the product of wisdom through love of God) before they can be accepted into God's realm.
God = Supreme Reality referring to either a singular entity the Father or a collective and harmonious unity the Holy Trinity. While Jesus and the Holy Ghost look upon the Father as God, as we also do when speaking in the singular form, the full utilization of the term God requires the existence all three divine persons. We lesser spiritual realities have the ability to understand, acknowledge, and have a relationship with the supreme reality(s). While the existence of the three persons of the Godhead is not dependent upon lesser realities, the absolute utility of the term God is so dependent.
What God the Father is, His Son is not. The Holy Ghost is the bridge/ commonality/ link/ communicator between God the Father and Jesus His Son. Each person of the Trinity has a Divine nature and a nature that gives Him particular identity. Jesus has both a human (particular) nature and a divine (spiritual) nature. Neither God the Father nor the Holy Ghost has a human nature but do have uniquely identifiable natures united with their divine nature.
Analogies that lend identity to the distinguishing natures of the three divine persons:
- Manufacturer, consumer, transporter.
- Source, user, intermediary.
- Space, matter, energy.
