        The above is a quote from the WorldNet Daily.com website.  They develop many fine articles but in their effort for profit they loose site of the goal which seems inherent in their publications.  They want to make money to keep their publication operational.  This is understandable.  No one should have the right to profit from their work.  However, if their purpose is to disseminate information for the good of the people, they should not restrict the usage of the material solely to their own web site.  If others who are interested in resolving the problems or concerns they are presenting, it would justly seem to be of benefit to have information disseminated as widely as possible.  Granted they, and other organizations with useful information, should be recognized as the source of the material and that information should be given on how to reach the source website.  On the Internet this would normally mean a direct link to the source web site.
        Many organization are just as guilty in this regard.  Self-interest is often given preference to the goal desired and is seen as counterproductive.

Programs should not be Copyrightable

        Programs that are tools used to produce a product (song, book, blueprint, etc.) are not in effect any different than a lathe, a windmill, a production line robot, or similar concept.  Such items or programs should only be patentable, but not copyrightable.
        There is also a problem of term for patent protection.  An extremely profitable patent that has widespread usage should be restricted to perhaps five to ten years for first patent.  Revisions to such patents should be limited to three to five years.  Should there be notable abuse patent protection should then be restricted to one year.
