Voting Information Legal for Churches to Disseminate

In the Catholic Church one is automatically excommunicated for having an abortion or as an accomplice to an abortion. An accomplice is one who pays for, transports to, promotes or encourages an abortion. By voting for any candidate who is known to be favorable to abortion, that is, either pro-abortion or pro-choice, one is a direct accomplice in abortion and without repentance and restitution such person is condemned to Hell.
Whether Catholic or not anyone who participates in sexual acts that are not open to the creative intent of God will be sentenced to Hell. One's personal belief is not a factor as God is both creator and judge. The only sin greater than that of killing an innocent conceived person is that of participating in a sexual act with another being that is in opposition to creation.

This nation was established by Christians seeking freedom for religious expression compatible with Biblical standards. The government of these United States of America now has restrictions placed upon information that can be presented by church leaders to voters. Our coinage declares a trust in God that is based upon the Christian perspective of God. However, the practices of our government have evolved to the point where the causes of atheism, agnosticism, and heathenism are being given preferential treatment. Additionally, many Christian leaders have caved into humanism and pay lip service to God while in practice they contribute to the coffers of liberalism. Perhaps they do this to protect the tax exempt status of their churches or to appease the liberal members of their congregations; in either case these men are guilty of grave sin and additionally may be guilty of hypocrisy and/or cowardice. In effect they are guilty of worshipping false gods.

The problem arises in relation to the tax exempt status of nonprofit organizations whether they are oriented toward religion, education, or public service. The following general guidelines have been established by the federal government in regard to the retention of tax exempt status in relation to activities associated with elections.

    1. Any political activity must be non-partisan. (teaching of moral values is not a political activity.)
    2. Tax exempt organizations and members acting in the name of the organizations cannot make any statement in support of or in opposition to any particular candidate or party, or carry on any other activity designed to reflect a preference or recommendation for any political candidate or party.

As part of their office, religious leaders have the obligation to teach in regard to matters of faith and morals in keeping with the long held tenants (doctrines) of their religion.

"If I tell the wicked man that he is going to die, and you do not make the effort to dissuade him from his way, he (the wicked man) shall die for his guilt, but I will hold you accountable for his death.  But, if you warn the wicked man, trying to have him change his way, and he refuses to repent, he shall die for his guilt, but you shall save yourself."  [Ezekiel 33:8-9]
There is no reason for pastors of souls to take political positions, or to state preference for particular candidates or parties. Further, the taking of such positions is often counterproductive to both short and long term Judeo-Christian goals.

It should always be stressed to members of congregations –those personally guilty of offenses against God– that by voting for anyone known to be guilty of committing or approving of evil, they are continuing the process of hardening their hearts in relation to God. It should also be stressed that material goals are never superior to spiritual goals no matter how worthy they may seem. NOTE:  No one has ever been denied entry into Heaven because he or she had been hungry or had starved to death. One's relationship with God and the Heavenly family must always take precedence over relationship with one's natural family, friends and neighbors.

Many pastors that would be willing to teach their faith are uncertain of how to proceed. Others see efforts to be futile unless there is a relative degree of unity in regard to action to be taken. The following questions and responses are presented in the hope of resolving both concerns.

    Questions:
    1. Is there a way to disseminate information constructive to Christian standards in regard to voting that is compatible with civil law?
    2. What information compatible with moral Biblical teachings –commonly acceptable to all knowledgeable Christians of faith– should be presented?
    Responses:
    1. From the pulpit a pastor may make moral statements as to what is pleasing to God and what would be offensive to Him. This is an important part of his duties as a minister of the Word. Failure to teach what is and is not pleasing to God should be understood as condemnatory.
    2. Any and all statements –of non-profit organizations or persons speaking for such entities– may be made in regard to faith and morals as is their duty before God so long as they do not speak or otherwise present information directly in support of or in opposition to any particular candidate or party. They may not carry on any other activity –post signs, pass out literature, etc.– designed to reflect a preference or recommendation for any political candidate or party.
Members of congregations should inform themselves as to the moral background and Christian values of all candidates for whom they are eligible to vote. They should restrict their voting to morally sound political candidates according to the tenants –founded in long held doctrine– presented by their religious leaders. One should never be misled by pretentious statements or by appearance at worship services by political candidates. It should be expected that candidates will attempt to win votes by presenting themselves as pious churchgoing persons.

Voters desiring eternal life should gather together and formulate questions to be asked of candidates for political office. Moral questions should be presented that are based upon established tenants of faith. Candidates for public office who fail to respond or who give a nebulous answer to any morally sound question must be construed as giving an answer opposed to the moral values of Christianity.

Independent groups of voters should deem it meritorious to examine each candidate for office and publish their findings so that people of faith may make sound decisions in regard to whom they may morally vote. Any morally offensive response or failure to respond should be seen as placing a candidate in a position of being objectional for office. Such men should not be voted for under any circumstance.

A history of lying, malfeasance in office, the commission of a felony, sympathy for, or wilful association with such persons should also summarily disqualify any candidate regardless of expressed repentance. If there is no acceptable candidate for a given office then one should still feel morally obligated to vote for acceptable candidates for other offices or for issues. A movement should be promoted wherein non-votes on ballots are included in the computation for establishing the total number of votes cast. It should be established that electors be required to take into consideration all non-votes in regard to all election proceedings.

The following suggested questions are based upon moral Christian principles and are not to be construed as being supportive of any political candidate or party. Their sole intention is to establish principles to guide sound conscientious voters in reference to whom they may morally vote if they expect to be found favorable in the sight of God. Every voter is obligated to determine for themselves who they may vote for without committing a serious offense to God that would jeopardize their eternal relationship with Him.

  1. Are you homosexually active or do you believe that the homosexual lifestyle is acceptable?
  2. Have you committed adultery or do you believe that the practice of adultery is morally acceptable?
  3. Do you believe that one may be sexually active only within a moral marriage?
  4. Have you practiced or do you believe in bigamy or polygamy?
  5. Are you a Freemason or do you belong to any secret organization or society that subjects you to obedience to its superiors?
  6. Are you supportive of Freemasonry or any offshoot or similar organization?
  7. Are you a Communist or an agent of any foreign government?  NOTE: It would be against sound religious principle to be supportive of an agent detrimental to a moral nation.
  8. Do you accept the Constitution of the United States of America as established and believed in by the founding fathers?  (The founding fathers followed sound Christian principles as demonstrated in early state constitutions and in writings such as "The New England Primer" a basic text used in most primary schools during the 18th and 19th centuries.)
  9. Have you ever committed an act of sodomy in any of its forms?  Sodomy includes but need not be limited to the following:
    • same sex sexual relationships and sensuality
    • bestiality
    • oral and anal sex
    • pedophilia
These are all highly degrading to human nature and are the gravest of sexual sins. Additionally included with these grave sins are all forms of contraception as well as the contraceptive mentality. Without sound moral reason even the use of natural family planning –natural birth regulation using natural rhythms– is gravely wrong.
  10. Have you committed an act of incest or do you believe it to be morally acceptable?
  11. Have you participated in, encouraged, or do you approve of abortion at any time following fertilization by any means whatsoever?
  12. At what level of relative importance do you place human life, animal life, and vegetative life?
  13. Do you believe that human life is of greater value than other forms of life?
  14. Do you believe that innocent persons must be given preferential protection over those who are guilty of moral crime?
  15. Are you aware of and committed to sound management of the environment?
  16. Are you an atheist, agnostic, Satan worshipper, or non-monotheistic believer? (It should be noted that our currency refers to both a belief in the existence of God and to the oneness [unity – complete harmony in truth] of God)
  17. What are your personal religious beliefs and how do you practice them?
  18. In the past ten years have you had sexual contact with someone other than your wife?
  19. Have you ever accepted any form of bribe for special favors?
  20. Have you ever used or do you approve of the use of mind altering drugs?
  21. Have you ever participated in growing, manufacturing, or distributing mind altering drugs?
  22. Have you ever been divorced?
  23. Do you believe that divorce is a good choice for families or the nation?
  24. If having won a previous election have you kept all campaign promises and goals?
        If not, why not?
  25. As an office holder have you vacillated in your decisions due to political pressures or polls?
  26. Will your motivation in regard to your duties of office focus upon being reelected, or be upon acting for the long term good of the people?
  27. If elected will you knowingly appoint to office people with any of the foregoing deficiencies?
  28. Do you belong to a religion or organization –whether it does or does not claim to be Christian– whose formal teachings approve of any of the foregoing?

  U. S. Flag - animated          While truthful answers indicating a sincere repentance may be viewed favorably in regard to some of the foregoing, false, evasive, and deceptive answers should be considered as detrimental.

The above listing is not to be considered as limiting. Rather it is intended as a suggested base line or pattern for approach to questions that can be used to establish a candidates moral eligibility for public office. Each pastor, after sound introspection, should adjust his positions according to his beliefs that conform to God's stated will. The questions stated above should apply to office seekers at all levels of government; national, state, county (parish), city, township, and includes judicial candidates. Even though a candidate may be seeking an office not associated with law or the enforcement thereof, they should still be viewed in the context of the rotten apple that affects the whole barrel.

The Apostles Creed          With few exceptions Christian denominations are strongly supportive of the Constitution as it was originally presented and understood by the founding fathers. The large majority of these men had a strong respect for Christian values as can be determined from documents of the era. These men had respect for the adjacent prayer that was commonly accepted.

The Lord's Prayer, given by Jesus to the chosen twelve, was also highly respected by all Christians. It is still said by believers of all denominations serving the Lord according to the best of their understanding.

There was no intention by the founding fathers to exclude men of faith from teaching, following, acting upon, or limiting the expression of their moral values. As the history of the country clearly establishes Christian principles were the substance for founding this nation under God. These principles should be recognized when the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America is said and when the national anthem, The Star Spangled Banner, is sung.

Animated Explosion          In the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, and in all subsequent wars and conflicts American men have fought and died for God given principles. Christians should not so easily give up what so many have suffered and died for. To do so would be to give up the American heritage. It will also mean the sacrifice of their eternal relationship with God in Heaven.
