TREND AGAINST PAPAL SAINTHOOD WELL ESTABLISHED
       There has been established a definite alarming trend in the Catholic Church and it appears, under present conditions, there will be no change in the near future.

57 of the 70 popes reigning during the first 600 years of the Church have been proclaimed saints.  Many of these popes died prematurely by martyrdom.

Only 2 of the 62 popes reigning during the last 600 years, from 1397 A.D. to 1997 A.D., have been named a saint. Neither has died a martyr.

The earliest popes were men of integrity and strong moral character.  Many of these men died for their faith in Jesus, while upholding the truths He had taught and had personally died for rather than deny or allow them to be diminished.

PREFERENCE for BODY rather than SOUL
       One should recognize that a good spiritual relationship with God is of far more value than any materialistic legal relationship.  Culpable moral separation, from the teachings of the Church, is more offensive to God than purely legal separation.  Separation of the mind and heart from unity with God, and the authority of His Church, is the key to destruction.  Merely legal separation from authoritative teachings may not, under certain conditions, ultimately be destructive of the soul and the spirit in Hell.  A formal schism should be seen as preferable to an informal schism.  When a schism is made formal (de jure) the facts regarding the schism are made clear.  This should be  much preferred  over a de facto festering schism wherein confusion increases exponentially.  Over a period of time, because of confusion, many otherwise faithful people loose hope, become disenchanted, and quit going to Church.

Through a misguided desire for having legal unity in the Catholic Church, Pope John Paul II has allowed --through omission-- apostasy, schism, and heresy to fester, to grow, and to become a major part of life within the Church.  Of what value is a visible and decaying unity when the Church is self-destructing through lack of discipline and through lack of recognition and acknowledgment of real (de facto) schism, heresy, and apostasy that exists within the legal (de jure) unity of the Church?

Does one have to publicly disavow membership in the Church to be in moral apostasy?  Or, isn't one an apostate when he knowingly is in opposition to the teachings of the Church?  Is one in schism only when he publicly breaks with the authority of Peter?  Isn't one in schism when in his heart he ignores the authority of Peter?  Is one not in heresy by publicly declaring that he differs with authoritative teachings of the Church even though he remains in it?  Isn't one in heresy when in his heart and practice he does not accept the authoritative teachings of the Church?  Must one be formally declared a heretic to be a heretic in fact?

A testament to faith exists when man upholds God's law in preference to man's law.  The witness to sin, to man, often is in the visible act.  God however reads both the mind and the heart.  He judges according to the internal disposition of man and not only according to visible manifestations.

PURGING MEN'S EVIL

       When angels of the Lord had completed their mission with Abraham and were visiting his nephew Lot, the men of the town came to abuse the angels.  The region of Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed at the hand of God. (Gn. 18 & 19)

Corrupt men of Gibeah acted similarly to the men of Sodom.  They desired to abuse a visiting Levite who was the guest of an old man.  To forestall the sin of sodomy the Levite's concubine was given to the men to be abused.  The concubine died as a result of abuse by these sons of Jacob.  The Levite cut her body into pieces and sent them throughout Israel.  What did the Israelites propose to do to return justice to the land?  They assembled, attacked and destroyed the city of Gibeah and much of the territory of Benjamin. (Judges 19:12-20:48)  They understood their responsibility and acted to forestall the hand of God.  They were wise.

OLD TESTAMENT STILL VALID
       The teachings and messages of the "Law" were declared valid by God through His servant Paul in 2 Timothy 3.  St. Paul was referring to the common Scriptures of the age as found in the Septuagint.  He was reinforcing the teachings of  Jesus, yet many desire to discredit these important teachings and examples of effective justice.

MASSIVE HUMAN DESTRUCTION
       During the reign of Pope John Paul II, Oct. 16, 1978 - [1997], a period of over 18 years, there have been an estimated 50 million surgical abortions performed worldwide each year.  This approximately totals nine-hundred million (900,000,000) innocent dead during these 18 years.  There have been about 10 times that number of abortions directly caused by chemical and mechanical means such as the birth control pill and the I.U.D.  This number could be as high as nine billion (9,000,000,000) innocent people murdered by a variety of such methods.  The combined number approaches twice the total of Earth's present living human population.  About one-sixth of the world's population claims to be Catholic.
