Graphically Exposed and Condemned <<< CLICK

An anti-Christ is one who presents himself as a faithful Christian
while at the same time acting in opposition to the true teachings
of Jesus. One who acts according to the goals of Satan.

She (Saint Bridget of Sweden [Birgitta] ) was not sparing of her criticisms, and did not fear to denounce a pope (Urban V) "as a murderer of souls, more unjust than Pilate and more cruel than Judas." [Butler's Lives of the Saints, Vol. 4, p. 55-56]
Pope John Paul II (Karol Wojtyla) is thought to be an Anti-Priest

An instrument used by Satanists as an
instrument of torture and murder and as
a sign used in relation to the sacrifice of
an innocent infant victim to their god, Satan.
Karol Wojtyla holds that all religions are
equal, including Satanism as well as various
forms of Vodoo and African tribal religions.

"Beloved, do not trust every spirit but test the spirits to see whether they belong to God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world." The spirits include everyone regardless of rank or status. We should trust the word of God (Sacred Scripture) while understanding that it can be further developed but can never be diminished or reversed. There is no more important person to test than the person filling the papal office, the reining pope. [1 John 4:1]

Pope of the  Great  Ecumenical  (JPII)  Heresy
promoted by the  Freemasonic  One World Order

Each new heresy has its own deceptive twist. In the JPII heresy known and uncontestable truths are presented in a manner that endorses the presenter as a man of truth. The reality is that truths made monotonous through repetition, with no follow through other than is necessary due to grave public scandal, diminishes the perspective of validity for those truths. The consequence is "double speak," a hypocrisy wherein statements do not match actions.

The belief is growing that "Karol Wojtyla" - AKA: Pope John Paul II  is an antiChrist.  Many in the Catholic faith believed when he became pope that he would resolve many of the internal problems of the Church. The reverse has been true. Discipline in the Church has declined to such a degree that priests, bishops, and cardinals are openly participating in or permitting opposition to matters of doctrine concerning faith and morals without the perpetrators having fear of being disciplined.

A measure of the discontent that exists in the Catholic Church is seen in the numbers who have become so dissatisfied with what is going on in the Vatican, and with bishops worldwide, that they believe that the Chair of Peter is vacant. These individuals and groups are known as "Sedevacantist's."

"Many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh; 1 such is the deceitful one and the antichrist. Look to yourselves that you do not lose what we worked for but may receive a full recompense. Anyone who is so "progressive" as not to remain in the teaching of the Christ does not have God; whoever remains in the teaching has the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him in your house or even greet him; for whoever greets him shares in his evil works." [2 John 1:7-11]
Wojtyla bows and kisses Muslim holy book (Koran) May 14, 1999 during audience with 3 Muslims. A pope of faith would not commit such heresy. 1  Pope John Paul II by kissing the Koran (Muslim holy book containing antiCatholic doctrine) and joining in prayer with Mohammedans – who do not believe in the most holy trinity or in the divinity of Jesus – and with Hindus, Buddhists and various pagan sects is in essence saying that the God traditionally believed in by Catholics was not incarnate and in effect is no different than any other belief in a god or gods. The effect is at least a variant of the belief condemned by two popes and by Vatican Council I called "pantheism"
( 1.  a doctrine that equates God with the forces and laws of the universe;
  2.  the worship of all gods of different creeds, cults, or peoples indifferently;
also:  toleration of worship of all gods. – Webster's Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary)
.

The statement, "coming in the flesh," clearly acknowledges a prior existence. By recognizing any sort of religious equality with those who deny the incarnation and who deny the divine nature of Jesus is to commit heresy. This is the embodiment of a new heresy called "Ecumenism" – The JPII heresy. His acts can be seen as being no less than malfeasance in office.

Less culpability is due those in the early Church who joined the heresy of "Arianism" (A 4th century heresy stating that Jesus was a created being and not divine.). Due to a lack of publications and communications as we have today, members of the early Church, by comparison at least, can be found somewhat less accountable in regard to early heresies. Even during the period of the Reformation communications were still poor as the printing press had only recently been invented. Publications and translations of them were very limited. The Reformation also had legitimate grievances relating to dysfunctionality within all levels of the Church hierarchy.

Sedevacantists – following the teaching of the "Code of Canon Law" that clearly states that an act of heresy brings automatic excommunication – declare the papacy to be vacant. Several small groups have accordingly declared themselves righteous and have proceeded to elect one of their own number as pope. They profess that since the cardinalate has been so highly infiltrated by freemasonry – often referred to as Masons – and other anti-Catholic organizations, – Communists, Socialists, Modernists, and by antagonistic governments – that there are no valid cardinals to elect a new pope. It should also be noted that John Paul II has appointed all but perhaps one of the cardinals that are eligible to vote for a new pope. Sedevacantists further recognize that the vast majority of bishops have been appointed during the reign of JPII, who was elected in October 1978.

These groups – from the Traditionalist's movement – while having much right on their side are among themselves badly divided on various issues. Following Protestant practices they have divided and subdivided until there is little harmony among them. Like Martin Luther and other dissidents of the Reformation they have failed to recognize a need for establishing sound procedures to follow in order to be able to recognize when one has wandered from the path of truth. Being partially right is never an excuse for being partially wrong.

What has always been needed in the true Church is an established guideline for determining precedence of authentic teachings and teachers. Few seem to remember that God's known will takes precedence over all temporal authorities, regardless of rank. A proposed outline for discussion 2 has been written and is available to those who have a sincere interest in truth.

The average Catholic today has only limited access to copies of original documents of the Church. Even many priests would have difficulty in finding all formal teachings for study. A worthy pope would see to it that Vatican officials and various conferences of bishops would publish and make easily available (at low cost or no cost via the Internet) all formal doctrines and teachings of the Church including rubrics and procedural manuals at all levels – copies of originals and their vernacular translations. They should be published with a suggested ranking as to their correct hierarchial order. Every professing Catholic should also have ready access to teachings in regard to legal forms of redress within the Church, at any level with some degree of worthy assistance. The Catholic Church is not a secret society. ("For there is nothing hidden that will not become visible, and nothing secret that will not be known and come to light." [Lk. 8:17])

Assisi, Italy, the site of two major ecumenical meetings – meetings wherein numerous representatives of highly diversified religious beliefs and practices were present – organized at the direction of Pope John Paul, has suffered vast damage by earthquake. Certainly the restorer of church buildings, St. Francis, did not deserve this catastrophe.

It is easy to say that it was just another natural disaster, that there was no special reason for God – who controls all events in the universe  9 – to permit or cause this to happen. Most would reject the concept that the death and destruction in the Assisi basilica is a warning of events to come if there is no repentance. The people of Nineveh put on sackcloth and ashes when Jonah warned of imminent doom; God did not bring the announced destruction upon the Ninevites when He saw their repentance, even without the suggestion that they might avert destruction.

To my knowledge no prophet has related the incident in Assisi to future events. Should high Church officials need special individualized and personalized warnings? John Paul received one warning at the hands of a would be assassin. He reflected upon and revised an encyclical (Laborem Exercens, 14 September 1981) that he had been about to promulgate. Is he incapable of relating events, or is he just in such great denial – due to high personal esteem that places his thought above the values taught by Jesus – that he needs a hand written message such as was received by King Belshazzar?

"King Belshazzar gave a great banquet for a thousand of his lords, with whom he drank. . . .
Suddenly, opposite the lampstand, the fingers of a human hand appeared, writing on the plaster of the wall in the king's palace. When the king saw the wrist and hand that wrote, his face blanched; his thoughts terrified him, his hip joints shook, and his knees knocked." [Daniel 5:1,5-6]

NOTE:  Shortly after Daniel interpreted the meaning of the words, written by a hand
               on the wall
, King Belshazzar was slain.

Masonic influence (Freemason, Illuminati, B'nai B'rith, and others) is said to be very great in the Church. Just how widespread is unknown but many cardinals and bishops are either masons or in agreement with the principles of Freemasonry. Pope John Paul is no exception. He has accepted, for all intents and purposes, both non-Christian and non-Catholic Christian religious leaders as equals according to the Masonic goal of a "One World Order" that necessitates the development of a "One World Religion." The leader of such one world religion would of necessity have to be someone who accepts Masonic doctrines and authority.

President William Clinton of the United States is a known Mason. Additionally, even before being first elected as president he was known as an avowed supporter of sodomites and legalized abortion.*  Both positions should be sufficient for any non-cowardly moral leader to keep totally disassociated from Clinton and all he stands for.

      *  "The innocent and the just you shall not put to death, nor shall you acquit the guilty." (Ex. 23:7) An infant in the womb is among the most innocent. The killers of such innocence can reasonably expect more opportunity for salvation than those who participated in the death of the most innocent of all, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God. It can not be expected that Caiaphas the high priest, together with the scribes and elders who planned the death of Jesus, or that Herod, Pilate and those in the crowd who shouted, "Crucify him; Crucify him," could ever enter Heaven. (Judas was personally condemned by Jesus with the words, "For the Son of Man indeed goes, as it is written of him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed. It would be better for that man if he had never been born." – Mark 14:21")

Clinton was granted audience with JPII, something that never should have occurred since in the eyes of many he was thereby given moral status. John Paul is guilty of giving grave scandal, regardless of how many recognized it as such – due to lack of discipline in relation to continually growing depravity in the Church during his already long tenure in office.         Further scandal occurred when Bill (Baptist) and Hillary (United Methodist) Clinton Fr. Makobane, by intention, desecrates the Holy Eucharist by giving Jesus to President Clinton were both given Holy Communion 3 by Father Mohlomi Makobane in Regina Mundi Catholic church in Johannesburg's Soweto township, South Africa on 29 March 1998 – with the almost certain knowledge of the local bishop and conference of Catholic bishops that Clinton would be attending Mass and may seek to receive Holy Communion.

Not to have communicated with the priest should be seen as dereliction of duty on the part of the bishops. By Catholic standards Clinton – understood to have been baptized – must be considered as an excommunicated person. As such he should not have been allowed even to attend a Catholic Mass.  (Specific law must be considered as a basis for understanding and should not be narrowly interpreted as all encompassing. Church law should be seen as a basis or guideline for sound reasoning, not a restriction to the use of intellect. It must not be viewed from the perspective of restrictive civil law that allows for many grave injustices to occur. "Woe to you, scholars of the law! You have taken away the key of knowledge. You yourselves did not enter and you stopped those trying to enter." – Luke 11:52)

[  Fr. Makobane said that he had given communion to President Clinton and Mrs. Clinton on the basis of information in the Catholic bishops' Directory of Ecumenism in Southern Africa (released by the local bishops' conference even though it had not been approved by the Vatican).
The controversy began even before President Clinton arrived in South Africa. According to Deputy White House spokesman, Barry Toiv, Father Makobane met with the White House advance team and invited the President to participate in Mass and Communion.
Father Makobane said he allowed President Clinton to participate because "he's the most powerful man in the world," and after Clinton stood up, "how much embarrassment it would have caused him by my saying 'Please sit down.'" (The Washington Post, 4/7/98) A proposed man of God was more worried about offending a mere mortal leader than he was concerned about revering the most high God. (www.cwfa.org/library/misc/1998-04-09_communionbill.shtml)  ]

This act was reported by Dan Rather on Tuesday Evening CBS News, 31 March 1998. There has been no public statement by Pope John Paul or by any Vatican official as to the evilness of this act. The action of the parish priest should have been seen as an act warranting automatic excommunication for desecration of the Sacred Species. While this understanding is certainly appropriate, this would have meant removing Cardinal Bernard Law of Boston from office for having given Holy Communion to the automatically excommunicated Senator Ted Kennedy. Right reason should always govern.

Can. 1367  One who throws away the consecrated species or, for a sacrilegious purpose, takes them away or keeps them, occurs a latae sententiae excommunication reserved to the Apostolic See; a cleric moreover, may be punished with some other penalty, not excluding dismissal from the clerical state.

This canon should be seen as opposing any form of desecration of the Body and Blood of Jesus – literally the abuse of the person of Jesus, the Son of God.  Giving Jesus to grave sinners who are proponents of evil –the Clintons or to Ted Kennedy– in the mind of any person of faith should be seen as worse than throwing away the consecrated species and should be seen as a sacrilege. Such act should be seen as at least the equivalent of the most vile act that one can possibly imagine;  worse than dropping Jesus into an active cesspool wherein human excrement is being constantly deposited.

Canons 1398 and 1329 automatically excommunicate all who have an abortion and all accomplices with exceptions for habitual lack of use of reason and so forth. Canon 1041 #4 ads to the understanding by saying, "and all who have positively cooperated."

It should be clear from the foregoing that one who legislates, promotes, or defends the practice of abortion or participates in the protection of those who act as murderers or accomplices comes under the sentence of automatic excommunication. Both President Clinton and Senator Kennedy have legislated in favor of and promoted procured abortion.

Is John Paul a condemned Freemason? 4 Certainly he has culpable guilt by dissociating himself from the event. – Any priest clearly understands that an act of this gravity could not have gone unreported to the pope. Karol Wojtyla is a philosopher and speaker of many languages who is accepted as being highly intelligent.

John Paul II is responsible for further promoting the longest enduring scandal in the history of the Church. A scandal that came into existence during the early 16th century. It presides over every papal election and is viewed by every visually perceptive tourist and visitor to the Sistine Chapel. (While using right reason it should be understood that the greater the degree of public bareness of any human form, or its portrayal, the greater is the degree of involvement by Satan. Sensual stimulation of the imagination with the motive of profit or titillation, in public by a person or at anytime by any form of media, is also of Satan.)

Through the repeated appeals of Pope Julius II, Michelangelo was persuaded to undertake the redecoration of the vaulted ceiling of the Sistine Chapel (Sistina Capella) that had been painted to simulate a blue heaven studded with gold stars. The Neoplatonic element injected into the decoration of the ceiling is present in the restless, ideal, nude figures of youths seated on the pedestal projections of the illusionistic architectural framework of the scenes along the center of the ceiling.5 The Renaissance Neoplatonic period was certainly morally corrupt. Assumption of Mary into Heaven replaced by Michelangelo's Last Judgement -- Click Here

Michelangelo, a known homosexual, was almost certainly a sodomite. Later, during the pontificate of Pope Paul III, he painted his huge "Last Judgement" scene in 1548. This scene replaced an "Assumption of the Virgin" that had originally been painted on the altar wall along with two other scenes. These wall decorations had been dedicated on the Feast of the Assumption, 1483 AD.

It would seem that in the name of "humanistic world solidarity," Pope John Paul II authorized the Japanese people – essentially believers in a variant of paganism – to restore this nude homosexually oriented art to its original sensuality. They photographed the art, in complete detail, both before and after.

Homosexual sodomy is again becoming accepted throughout the world. It is estimated that from 5% to 10% of the world's population is homosexual. In Africa the estimates range higher.

    • The greatest continuing and most prolific act of God is the creation of intelligent life. To participate eternally in the life of the Father we must be open to participating in His creative activity, each according to their own calling. We must never act in opposition to creation. (Honor thy father and thy mother – The commandment with a promise. God is our true Father.) Non-procreative sexually stimulating activity between two beings equates with sodomy. Sodomy is the desire to use one's sexual faculty for the purpose of sensual pleasure while excluding the probability of natural procreation. This is immoral activity (mortal sin) as it excludes openness to participating in the creation of man. (Concerns about overpopulation and world hunger demonstrate a lack of faith and trust in God who has unlimited capacity to meet the needs of people of faith. "and he ordered the crowds to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, he said the blessing, broke the loaves, and gave them to the disciples, who in turn gave them to the crowds." – Mt. 14:19; "Then he took the seven loaves and the fish, gave thanks, broke the loaves, and gave them to the disciples, who in turn gave them to the crowds." – Mt. 15:36) The great commandment instructs us to love God entirely. All sin is a failure to love God.
While the Catholic Church does instruct about the evil of sin with the intention always of deterring one from sin
(how to avoid entry into Hell) it does not do so with the motive of condemning. The goal of the Church is to teach what the love of God entails (this can be done only by learning to act according to His will) in order that one day we will be taken up into Heaven. Entry into Heaven should be our focus, not fear of eternal damnation. Such instilling of fear is used only as necessary to get one's attention so that the experience of damnation is not made present.

An extensive news report released by the Kansas City Star, Jan. 31, 2000, (www.kansascity.com) indicates that from 15% to 30% of Catholic priests are homosexual with about half of them active. The article reveals that Roman Catholic priests (includes bishops) in the United States are dying from AIDS-related illnesses at a rate four times that of the general population.

Within a couple of years following ordination the thought occurred to me that perhaps 2% or at most 3% of priests might be of homosexual orientation, a horrendous consideration. A year or so later in conversation with a respected and knowledgeable priest of the diocese he stated that the figure was about 35%. I knew there were many problems in the Church but it had not occurred to me until then that homosexuality might be high among their causes.

In retrospect it seems probable that at least since the redecoration of the Sistine Chapel in the early 16th century there has been an ever increasing number of homosexual priests, bishops, and popes. If popes since that time have been elected in the presence of extensive homosexual art, what can be said concerning the electors and the electees.

It can be postulated that in psychological confusion many cardinals and even popes did not know how to react to the extensive nude art in the Vatican and throughout Rome. The more sincere ones would be reluctant to bring questions that would condemn their predecessors. Others, the ladder climbers, just did not care. The homosexuals no doubt "enjoyed" the art.

The following positions should be made law to maintain peace with God and greatly diminish the detrimental effects of a homosexual psychology in the priesthood:

    1. Homosexual orientation should be a perpetual impediment to ordination
      – a perpetual (diriment) impediment is referred to as an irregularity.
    2. Any act of sodomy or pedophilia by a cleric or by a religious of either sex, should subject him or her to automatic excommunication. Such sentence should not be lifted or the sin forgiven anyone remaining in (and not permanently disassociated with) the clerical or religious state.
Only recently due to high financial losses from lawsuits against pedophiles has any action begun to be taken against them by bishops. It seems a popular way of dealing with such cases in the past was to reassign a guilty individual to an unsuspecting parish, or, with the cooperation of another bishop, allow him to accept an assignment in another diocese.
Another grave reason for restrictions regarding gays and lesbians is that it is well known they are mutually cooperative with and supportive of pro-abortionists who are often referred to as pro-choicer's. The taking of any innocent life is highly offensive to God.

The priesthood is morally weakened by those who are sexually oriented to members of the same sex or are asexual. Even a forthright homosexual would have difficulties counseling engaged and married couples while trying to relate to his own sexuality. Further, priests often have communal accommodations and should not be subjected to an untoward environment. Homosexuality in the priesthood is seen as playing a major part in the growth of freemasonry due to its inherent disassociation with normal objective life.

    ADDENDUM:
Since writing this article I have read the February 10, 2000 issue of "The Wanderer," a conservative national Catholic weekly. In this issue are two articles dealing with the exposition of homosexuality in the Church.
When checking their web site:   http://www.thewandererpress.com/   I found a total of 12 articles, including the two mentioned, referencing homosexual activities of priests including comments concerning bishops and cardinals. These articles dated as far back as 1 November 1998. The issue dated 10 February 2000 has an extensive article beginning on the front page entitled:

      Homosexual Clerics' Web Site
      Indicates Deep Influence
      in Church
      (A special Wanderer report)

      The following are extracted statements:

      1.         One of the most notable threads on the site reports how the Los Angeles contingent of bishops was so alarmed about a document being prepared at the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, which would bar the Ordination of homosexuals as diocesan priests or for religious orders, that they approached Pio Cardinal Laghi to express their opposition.
Laghi, until this past fall prefect of the Congregation for Catholic Education, allegedly told the L.A. bishops not to worry because Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger's proposed document would never get through the Vatican vetting process.
      2. The View Of Rome
Rome, however, while condemned for its sexual intransigence, is perceived as a hotbed of that same forbidden behavior.
"I have heard likewise that there are more gay men in the Vatican than all of San Francisco. I feel that to protect the a---- of the 75% there will be the likes of the great witch-hunts where one accused the other."

All 12 articles can be found on the web site mentioned above either on the "Home Page" or through the link entitled, "The Wanderer Archives."

          16 February 2000

If Pope John Paul is not a Freemason, or sympathetic with them, then why has he not effectively acted against the well publicized acts of sodomy and pedophilia by priests and bishops? Has he had a homosexual problem in the past that is known to someone who is holding the knowledge over his head (blackmail), or is he mentally, if not physically, a practicing homosexual? If the latter is true then without repentance he will be condemned to Hell. If the former is true and he does not repent he will be condemned as a coward. With the enduring gravity of the offenses, and their ramifications, it is probable that in his case no less than a full public confession and penance, as part of receiving the sacrament of Penance, would be required by God for forgiveness.

According to recent news articles in March of 2000 Pope John Paul II wants to make a sweeping apology for 2,000 years of church violence, persecution, and blunders. He seems not to understand that people commit sin, not the Church. The Church, an instrument of God, is incapable of doing evil. Only people have the ability to sin. If he wants to apologize for someone's personal sins he should understand that only the individual can ask for forgiveness. One cannot be baptized or forgiven sin after death. Is he trying to establish a precedent for someone to apologize for, or forgive his sins after he dies?

While some of Karol Wojtyla's activities during his reign as pope would be enough to convict him of heresy,7  the extent of his failures to act according to the requirements incumbent upon a chief temporal "father" of the Church would validate the position that he is an "antiChrist."

In consideration of the possible moral validity of the sedevacantist position, the understanding should exist that all decrees by a presiding pope (highest ranking temporal spiritual father) must minimally be considered as legally though not necessarily morally valid until such time as a successor pope declares them null. Only a valid reigning pope carries with him the authority of Peter (rock) given by Jesus Himself in Matthew 16:19 ("I will give you [Peter] the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you [Peter] bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you [Peter, Simon bar Jonah was the first rock / pope] loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."). A well informed conscience, using a correct hierarchial understanding of authority in the Church, can be seen as sufficient reason to ignore papal presentations or even to oppose both them and the offender.  (WARNING: Blameworthy error leads to eternal damnation.)

Can. 333 §3  There is neither appeal or recourse against a judgement or a decree
                            of the Roman Pontiff.
Can. 1372  A person who appeals from an act of the Roman Pontiff to an Ecumenical
Council or to the College of Bishops, is to be punished with a censure.
Can. 1404  The First See is judged by no one. (First See in this sense refers to
acts of office, not acts of person)

Can. 1629  No appeal is possible against:
1o  a judgement by the Supreme Pontiff himself, or a judgement of the
                            Apostolic Signatura;

It should be noted that none of the foregoing canons deal with matters that exclude a pope from personal error or heresy. While the pope is the highest temporal authority in the Church, even he is subject to all laws of God. God's laws must be understood to be unchangeable. (Matthew 16:19 does not grant Peter or any successor the authority to eliminate or change the expressed or otherwise known will of God. God only enhances moral positions; He never reverses them.) The canons do however state that official judgements of a pope cannot be set aside by any earthly authority – other than a future legal and moral pope.

Can a pope be legally removed from office should he teach, even unofficially, in opposition to a matter of unchangeable Church doctrine?

In the history of the Church there have been cases where a second pope has been elected. To my knowledge these instances dealt more with political considerations rather than questions of faith and morals. These cases are not seen as a help in setting precedent for lawful papal expulsion. What is clear is that one who is a heretic and has automatically been "morally" excommunicated should not be allowed to continue to reign as legal pope.

While precedent is lacking it would seem that any morally sound individual – for practical purposes it must be a cardinal (preferred), a bishop with ordinary jurisdiction, or a group with significant impact within the Church – can present a case for legal excommunication for acts gravely offensive against God and His people. This is very difficult when too many look upon a pope as at least a quasi-god instead of as God's representative who has human free will coupled with the ability to gravely sin with the potential of being sent to Hell.

Without a developed understanding that each person has a direct obligation to act upon God's known will, in the service of Him and His people, there is little chance for such action to take place even though it means that all in a position to act who have not done so are subjecting themselves to eternal damnation. (People are condemned for the good they have failed to do, not for the good that they have done. – Mt. 25:40,45f ) Culpable (blameworthy) ignorance and cowardice are the two most probable reasons for inaction by otherwise worthy men. It would also seem that many in the higher echelons of the Church do not trust sufficiently in the eternal justice of God to overcome their concerns about foreseen temporal condemnation. The effect is that for the present none have the desire to risk martyrdom even with the consequent guarantee of immediate entry into Heaven following death.

Is there a cardinal, a bishop, or the head of a Catholic country who has the courage to call for an international council of bishops with the intention of placing a heretical or highly dysfunctional (detrimental to the people of God) pope on public trial? (An ecumenical council often develops doctrine and can only be called by a pope.) Will there be enough cardinals and bishops with the courage to attend such a council to fairly try an accused pope and be willing to vote to expel him from office if it is determined that he is guilty? (Invalid ordination and other grave reasons 8  also exist for expelling a pope, bishop, or priest from office.)

What should the laity do and not do if they are morally certain that their parish priest, their bishop, or the pope is acting in a manner gravely offensive to God's will?

    What to do:
    1. Continue to attend Mass with respect
    2. Attend all parish meetings and get to know others of faith
    3. Seek conferences with the parish priest and with the diocesan bishop
    4. Locate and confer with others who are loyal to God and His Church and then seek additional conferences with priests and bishop
    5. If the parish priest is seen to be guilty of extreme failure in the performance of his duties - failing to teach the entire Word of God - is teaching heresy - does not believe in the presence of Jesus in the Eucharist - is a pedophile, a sodomite, an adulterer, guilty of incest, etc., report him to the bishop. If the bishop fails to take any positive action after a proper period allowed for investigation, both the bishop and the priest should be publicly opposed while making appeal to the Vatican. (If there are enough faithful Catholics both the bishop and the priest could be tarred and feathered and run out of town on rails.) In the meantime contributions to or through the parish church, the diocese, the national conference of bishops, and the Vatican should cease. Any contributions that are seen as necessary should be given under highly controlled circumstances.  (Tithes must always be used for the good of the Church, in one way or another, or held for such time as order is restored for the rebuilding of the Church to take place.)

    What not to do:
    1. Do not despair and leave the Church or take a tangential position that leads to or is a variant of Protestantism.
    2. Do not blame God for man's sinfulness.
    3. Do not act apart from the defined will of God.
    4. Do not speak against the Church itself because of the offenses of some or even most of its members – the head of the Church is Jesus and the true doctrine of the Church is from God.
    5. Do not neglect the holy sacraments.

    REFLECTIONS:

    1. The Vatican entertains while the world's Catholics
suffer from deprivation of witness to truth.
    2. We do not need a millennium celebration,
we need a disciplined hierarchy focused upon truth.
    3. We need a pope who has a sufficient love of truth to put it into practice.
    4. Less talk and more action would better serve Jesus and the needs of
              His people.
    5. Popularity is not a requisite for salvation.
    6. Peace with God should be given priority over peace with man.
    7. First seek peace with God, then you will have peace with man.

"Salt is good, but if salt becomes insipid, with what will you restore its flavor?
Keep salt in yourselves and you will have peace with one another." [Mk. 9:50 ]

"Glory to God in the highest and on earth
peace to those on whom his favor rests." [Lk. 2:14]

"Do you think that I have come to establish peace on the earth?
No, I tell you, but rather division." [Lk. 12:51]

"saying, "If this day you only knew what makes for peace
--but now it is hidden from your eyes
." [Lk. 19:42]

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.
Not as the world gives do I give it to you.
Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid." [Jn. 14:27]

Concerning Scandal

The source of scandal is the person who commits grave sin. He is the primary and often the only guilty person. While one may not freely expose past evil that is found out without incurring guilt, there are situations that at times exist when one may not avoid exposing evil activity in order to put an end to reoccurring offenses against God. Failure to act righteously against evil, in accordance with one's ability, calling, and opportunity, is condemnatory by God's judgement.   [Detraction, Calumny, and Scandal]

If I be condemned by God then I am condemned,
but if I am condemned by man and not by God,
then eternal life with Jesus will be my reward.

ADDENDUM 2:  March 13, 2000
While in some ways Pope John Paul II may succeed as a politician and as an actor, he has been destructive to the faith of millions during his term as leader of the largest and only doctrinally sound and organized religion in the world. In the referenced event he even fails as a sound politician. Any good politician would take into account how his words and actions would be expected to be interpreted by the media. The following was stated in the local newspaper under a large front page picture of the pope embracing the legs of the corpus of Jesus on a cross – "The pope asked forgiveness for the errors of the Roman Catholic Church through the ages."

The overall effect is that he is seeking public personal adulation rather than fulfilling the position of vicar of Christ that he accepted. By example his focus is on human association rather than upon the higher values of spiritual life. Jesus is number one, not Karol Wojtyla acting under the guise of Pope John Paul II. His act – reported in the "Mobile Register," 3/13/00, as being "pushed forward over the doubts of even many of his own cardinals and bishops." – does not serve God or God's One True Church, but only serves his own personal agenda.

While this was not the official purpose of the event, it is the common impression many if not most received. Few are able to understand that the Catholic Church, the official existing religion established by God, is totally free from error. While it is unquestioned, by those knowledgeable and open to truth, that a pope can personally sin and go to Hell, the official teachings of the Church and the doctrinally sound actions of a pope are free from error. All other teachings and actions are the result of personal opinions, and the Church, whose head is Jesus Christ, can not be held accountable.

John Paul has largely succeeded as a world traveling ham actor in spite of the occasional fan who gets injured or trampled to death in an effort to see him. As stated in the Zenit news report below, The ceremony began before Michelangelo's "Pietΰ" altar in St. Peter's. It might be questioned as to why a statue sculpted by a known homosexual was chosen as the starting point for this opinionated act of asking for forgiveness of past sins of people who acted apart from the favor of the Lord.

Those who die in the state of the professed sins committed suffer eternally in Hell. The Church has never held that anyone committed to Hell will ever get out. There can be no apology for them, only for the failure of allowing them to continue in office. The only meaningful action that could now be taken would be to openly condemn the particular actions of named cardinals, bishops, and priests who failed to live up to their commitment as leaders of faith.

A special condemnation could also be made concerning particular popes for heresy and other excommunicatable offenses as well as those who have failed to condemn the sinful actions and omissions of previous popes. Pope Honorius I is perhaps the only pope who has been specifically condemned posthumously in relation to (personal) heresy. Pope Liberius who, while under the duress of captivity, concurred in the condemnation of St. Athanasius became the first pope not to be named a saint.

"And if the virtuous man turns from the path of virtue to do evil, the same kind of abominable things that the wicked man does, can he do this and still live? None of his virtuous deeds shall be remembered, because he has broken faith and committed sin; because of this, he shall die." [Ezekiel 18:24]

Since reparation for sins committed is a requirement for absolution, those who have not acted to repair their public grave sinful actions, against the moral well being of the faithful, and failures to act for the good of the Church must be accepted as now suffering eternal damnation. Everyone is accountable for the loss of souls through the teaching of false doctrine and the giving of bad example. Popes, bishops, and priests have highest accountability.

Pope John Paul's statement, "As we ask forgiveness for our sins, we also forgive the sins committed by others against us." is doctrinally unsound. Release from accountability for sin must be individually requested. While one may forgive in the sense of not personally holding an offender accountable for sins committed against oneself, until the sinner contritely asks for forgiveness he is always accountable to God. No one can act substitutionally for another person regarding matters of faith and morals. John Paul's words and actions should be seen as no more than political gestures or posturing.

It must be remembered that many who are legally Catholic may have long ago forsaken the sound teachings of the Church and the practice of the faith, or, having been born into the faith, had never been trained in the faith or accepted it. Others while maintaining a public life in the Church – this includes at least some of the hierarchy of the Church – pick and choose among the teachings of the Church and live a life of sin.

It must also be acknowledged that the purported atrocities –as many would like to believe– were committed against those who where themselves in grave sin. Muslims had first warred against Christians. Jews had become an ethnic group no longer endorsed by God because of their continual rejection of the teachings of their faith. It must also be acknowledged, as stated in the Fourth Lateran Council, 1215 – Canons on Jews – that recriminations in regard to Jews were often warranted.

The Hebrews, descendants of Abraham, long ago ceased being the people of faith having many times – even before the coming of their Messiah, whom those who today call themselves Jews continue to deny – rejected the covenant given them by God. The large majority of those who consider themselves to be Jews rarely attend services and generally ignore the teachings of the Torah. – "For if you had believed Moses, you would have believed me, because he wrote about me. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe my words?" [John 5:46-47]

"You nullify the word of God in favor of your tradition that you have
handed on. And you do many such things." [Mark 7:13]

"and you do not have his word remaining in you, because you
do not believe in the one whom he has sent." [John 5:38]

"Whoever belongs to God hears the words of God; for this reason you
do not listen, because you do not belong to God." [John 8:47]

While undoubtedly many actions against Jews, as with actions against many other groups, were a result of prejudice, it must be understood that all unjust actions against an individual or group are subject to the justice of God in the next life. No apology can be made for them. No apology can ever be a substitute for the acceptance of sound doctrine and theology by Christians in or out of the active life of the one true Church, the Catholic Church. [Only a desire for truth, seeking it with an open mind, and its acceptance when found will unite peoples of diverse cultures.]

It is one thing to acknowledge that individuals who were no more than pseudo Catholics committed sin, it is another thing to even remotely suggest that present day Catholics are responsible for the sins of past generations, or in any way are accountable for them. The pope and present day Catholics need to first ask God for forgiveness for their own sins and then go into the world and perform the works that are necessary for salvation.

Pope John Paul II is personally responsible for many grave sins of omission – extreme failure to discipline and remove errant cardinals and bishops (most if not all of whom were appointed during his term in office) who have committed or promoted grave offenses against God and man. Due to his bad example even otherwise reasonably sound bishops fail to discipline errant priests and religious under their authority. It should be kept in mind that due to the external gravity of some sins there must be public admission of guilt followed by significant public penance.

When reading the following words of Saint James please keep in mind that Spiritual Works of Mercy have direct impact upon the salvation of both giver and receiver while the Corporal Works of Mercy have their greatest impact upon the giver.

"For whoever keeps the whole law, but falls short in one particular,
has become guilty in respect to all of it." [James 2:10]

"What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister has nothing to wear and has no food for the day, and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, keep warm, and eat well," but you do not give them the necessities of the body, what good is it? So also faith of itself, if it does not have works, is dead." [James 2:14-17]

"Whoever is ashamed of me and of my words in this faithless and sinful
generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of when he comes in
his Father's glory with the holy angels." [Mark 8:38]

"Consecrate them in the truth. Your word is truth." [John 17:17]

"Children, let us love not in word or speech but in deed and truth." [1 John 3:18]

POPE SOLEMNLY ASKS FORGIVENESS FOR PAST FAULTS OF CHURCH'S CHILDREN
One of Most Significant Events
of Jubilee Year

VATICAN CITY, MAR 12 (ZENIT.org).- Today John Paul II presided over a ceremony that will pass into the history books. For the first time, in a solemn ceremony, the Pontiff asked forgiveness for the past and present faults of the children of the Church. This gesture has become one of the most significant signs of the Jubilee of the Year 2000.

The ceremony began before Michelangelo's "Pietΰ" altar in St. Peter's. The Pontiff began this gesture before an image of Mary because the Church, like the Virgin, wants to take into its arms the crucified Savior, weighed down with the sins of her children, and invoking the Father's forgiveness.

The homily during the Mass was a genuine examination of conscience for past and present faults of the Church's children. But the most solemn moment came when John Paul II led a prayer in which he confessed the faults and asked for forgiveness.

"Mea Culpa"
After an initial plea for repentance, 7 Cardinals of the Roman Curia publicly confessed Christians' past and present faults. The first, Benin's Cardinal Bernardin Gantin, dean of the College of Cardinals, made a general confession of Christians' sins in the course of history, while Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, called for confession of faults for the use of "non-evangelical methods" in the service of faith.

Cardinal Roger Etchegaray, president of the Central Committee for the Jubilee, exhorted the confession of sins that caused division among Christians; Cardinal Edward Cassidy, president of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity, acknowledged the faults committed "against the people of the Covenant," Israel; and Japanese Archbishop Stephen Fumio Hamao, president of the Pontifical Council for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant People, mentioned sins committed against love, peace, the rights of peoples, respect of cultures and religions.

Nigerian Cardinal Francis Arinze, president of the Pontifical Council for Inter-Religious Dialogue, requested confession of sins that have wounded the dignity of woman and the unity of mankind. Finally, Vietnamese Archbishop Franηois Xavier Nguyκn Van Thuβn, president of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, encouraged confession of sins in the area of fundamental rights of the human person: abuses against children, marginalisation of the poor, suppression of the unborn in the maternal womb or their use for experimentation...

The Cardinals' confession included the topics mentioned earlier by the Pontiff in his homily. The Papal "mea culpa" also addressed the present day sins of Christians. "With greater reason, we confess our responsibility for today's evils. In face of atheism, religious indifference, secularism, ethical relativism, violations of the right to life, indifference toward the poverty of many countries, we cannot but ask ourselves what our responsibilities are."

After asking God's forgiveness, each one of those responsible for Vatican organizations venerated a very special crucifix, which today was in the Vatican Basilica, but which normally is displayed in the Roman Church of St. Marcellus. This is an image of Christ that has been venerated during Holy Years since the 14th century. At the end of the final prayer, the Holy Father himself embraced and kissed the crucifix as an expression of love and petition for pardon.

Reasons for the "Mea Culpa"
John Paul II explained the meaning of this unique ceremony at its conclusion, when he met thousands of faithful in the Vatican's St. Peter's Square to pray the Marian "Angelus." "The Holy Year is a time of purification: the Church is Holy because Christ is her Head and Spouse, the Spirit is her vivifying soul, and the Blessed Virgin and the saints are her most authentic expression. However, the children of the Church know the reality of sin, whose shadows are reflected in her, darkening her beauty. Because of this, the Church does not cease to implore God's forgiveness for the sins of her members."

The Pope made it clear that "this is not a judgment on the subjective responsibility of the brothers who have preceded us: this is something that corresponds only to God who, as opposed to us human beings, is able to 'scrutinize the heart and the mind.' The act carried out today is a sincere acknowledgment of the faults committed by the children of the Church in the remote and recent past, and a humble supplication for God's forgiveness. This will no doubt awaken consciences, enabling Christians to enter the third millennium more open to God and his plan of love."

However, not only did the Pope ask for forgiveness, on behalf of the Church, he also forgave. "As we ask for forgiveness, we forgive," he explained. "This is what we say every day when we pray the prayer taught to us by Christ: 'Our Father... forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.' May this Jubilee day bring all believers the fruit of reciprocal pardon given and received."

After having forgiven and been forgiven, Christians, according to John Paul II, will be able to enter the new millennium "as more credible witnesses of hope."

"Following centuries characterized by violence and destruction, and after this last especially dramatic one, the Church presents to humanity, which crosses the threshold of the third millennium, the Gospel of forgiveness and reconciliation, as the premise to construct authentic peace," he concluded.        ZE00031207

The Remnant – January 31 AD 2000
Jonathan Tuttle - Columnist, Virginia

When in Doubt. . . Declare Victory
American Catholic Universities — . . . excerpt beginning at end of 3rd column, page 10.

Perhaps the most surprising facet of this Ex Corde discussion is that the conservatives have never actually pondered the idea that "cracking down" is a two-way street.

The only "cracking down" we've seen over the past thirty-five years is against orthodox Catholics. Case in point: Cardinal Roger Mahony. Cardinal Mahony has banned Operation Rescue from his archdiocese. He has banned COURAGE (an organization for those who have renounced the homosexual lifestyle) from his diocese, but said a Saturday evening Mass for a Gay-Lesbian conference in Long Beach. A man of principle, Cardinal Mahony forbade one of the attending lesbians the reception of Holy Eucharist. Well that's not the whole story: he refused to give her Communion on the tongue.6  Cardinal Mahony's archdiocesan newspaper, The Tidings, is notorious for, among other things, favoring pro-abortion politicians, and recently carrying an advertisement for a Call-to-Action conference.

Mahony has posed for pictures with the stars of ABC television's blasphemous show "Nothing Sacred," insisting that Catholics should not boycott the show. Cardinal Mahony bestowed the Catholics in Media award to Lew Wasserman, the chairman of Universal Studios, the company that produced "The Last Temptation of Christ." When asked if he would support the Hayes Code for decency in motion pictures, the good cardinal responded that it was the "last thing I wish to do." Truly, Cardinal Mahony is in love with the media.

However, the media can go too far for Cardinal Mahoney. On an episode of Mother Angelica Live last year, Mother Angelica questioned Cardinal Mahony's Eucharistic teaching in a pastoral letter which seemed to deny transubstantiation. In response, Cardinal Mahony vehemently attacked Mother Angelica, saying in a speech before the Pontifical Council for Social Communications, "In some instances, those who have access to the public media, but have little or no competence in Catholic theology or church doctrine, assault the legitimate authority of the Church."

According to the Mahonian doctrine, any media is fine--attack the Church, attack orthodoxy, attack priests, but you better not defend orthodox teaching. That's just going too far. Keep in mind that Cardinal Mahony was one of the four cardinals pushing hardest for the mandatum. Now my question to the conservatives is this: being that Cardinal Mahony will now have the power to silence anyone he wants, who do you think is first on his list? There's no doubt he is going to crack down on someone, but do you really think he is going to throw out the liberals? Why would he throw out his friends?

As a matter of fact, I have a haunting suspicion that Cardinal Mahony has already begun. On October 18, 1999, Bishop Foley of the Diocese of [Birmingham in] Alabama issued the following directive, to be followed under pain of "suspension or removal of faculties": "At any Mass that is or will be televised for broadcast or videotaped for public dissemination, the priest is to use a free-standing altar and face the people." Isn't it a strange coincidence that for years Bishop Foley has had nothing but praise for EWTN in televising a Mass in which the priest faced the altar, yet just several months after the Mother Angelica versus Cardinal Mahony tete-a-tete, the priests at EWTN are being reprimanded with threats of laicization? [Web page Editor's Note: Laicization does not follow from loss of faculties.   EXAMPLE:  In the case of a visiting priest only faculties for the one diocese is lost. Such priest may still say Mass in any other diocese worldwide.]

Truly, Cardinal Mahony has a long reach.  . . .

6   Web page Editor's note:  As communion on the tongue has not been popular among liberals for many many years, it is probable that this woman had not been to Mass in many many years.

Code of Canon Law, Article 3: Irregularities and other Impediments

Can. 1040 Those bound by an impediment are to he barred from the reception of orders. An impediment may be simple; or it may he perpetual, in which case it is called an irregularity. No impediment is contracted which is not contained in the following canons.

Can. 1041 The following persons are irregular for the reception of orders:

      1o one who suffers from any form of insanity, or from any other psychological infirmity, because of which he is, after experts have been consulted, judged incapable of being able to fulfil the ministry;
      2o one who has committed the offence of apostasy, heresy or schism;
      3o one who has attempted marriage, even a civil marriage, either while himself prevented from entering marriage whether by an existing marriage bond or by a sacred order or by a public and perpetual vow of chastity, or with a woman who is validly married or is obliged by the same vow;
      4o one who has committed wilful homicide, or one who has actually procured an abortion, and all who have positively cooperated;
      5o one who has gravely and maliciously mutilated himself or another, or who has attempted suicide;
6o one who has carried out an act of order which is reserved to those in the order of the episcopate or priesthood, while himself either not possessing that order or being barred from its exercise by some canonical penalty, declared or imposed.

Can. 1043 Christ's faithful are bound to reveal, before ordination, to the Ordinary or to the parish priest, such impediments to sacred orders as they may know about.

Can. 1045 Ignorance of irregularities and impediments does not exempt from them.

In addition to canonical impediments it must be understood that anyone who is under penalty of –in the condition of being under– automatic excommunication, or by act or decree has been excommunicated, cannot validly be a recipient of clerical orders. In the Latin Rite of the Church these include the diaconate (deacons), the presbyterate (priests / elders), and the episcopacy (bishops).
NOTE: To be elected pope one must be a validly ordained priest.

Question Church teachings on homosexuality

At a conference in Pittsburgh sponsored by New Ways Ministry, Bishops Thomas Gumbleton of Detroit and Matthew Clark of Rochester, New York, caused a sensation when they encouraged homosexuals to be active in the Church, and suggested that in time the Catholic Church would approve homosexual unions.

Bishop Gumbleton--who reports that he himself is heterosexual, but has been an active supporter of gay-rights activists since learning that his brother is homosexual--told the New Ways conference that homosexual priests should be open about the leanings. "I can't tell you the number of letters I have received from priests who say they are gay, but who are afraid to come out," he said. "What a loss that is to our Church!"

At the same conference Bishop Clark--who had riled the faithful of his own diocese a few weeks earlier by celebrating a special service for homosexuals--seemed to go even further in questioning Church teachings when he told the Pittsburgh audience that he had directed a Rochester priest to stop officiating at ceremonies to bless "holy unions" between homosexual couples. Bishop Clark explained, "My concern is not so much the practice ... but that [such ceremonies] communicate to the wider community that the issue is settled."
