This interpretation of the third secret of Fatima is diametrically opposed to that presented by Vatican officials. Sister Maria Lucia dos Santos, the only living visionary of the apparitions of Our Lady at Fatima, suggested that the content of this vision / prophesy be released in 1960 during the pontificate of Pope John XXIII [John XXIII, Oct. 28, Nov. 4, 1958 -- June 3, 1963]. Popes John XXIII, Paul VI, and Pope John Paul I, perhaps fearing that it would apply to them if published, refused its release. Pope John Paul II waited almost 22 years before releasing it, probably while waiting for a time, motivation, or interpretation favorable to him.
Being ambitious to declare as many saints as possible during his pontificate Karol Wojtyla desired to beatify the two younger visionaries of Fatima in Portugal, Francisco and Jacinta. Along with their beatification it became expedient to publish the third part of the secret of Fatima. This third secret had been put into written form by the oldest of the three visionaries who is now living in the Carmel of Saint Teresa in Coimbra, Portugal (Sister Lucia's mortal life ended Sunday February 13, 2005, at the age of 97).
With the beginning of the new century Pope John Paul II believes that all of the predicted events have occurred. What was seen as necessary was to find an explanation of the prophesy that would present the third secret in a favorable light regarding himself. This has now been done primarily through the auspices of Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger (now named Pope Benedict XVI), Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.
The conclusion of the secret of Fatima has been revealed forty years late and has been misinterpreted by legal only Church officials. It should be noted that Sister Lucia herself stated that even though she received the vision, she had not received its interpretation, therefore, any reference to her acceptance of an interpretation is misleading. (See theological commentary of Cardinal Ratzinger.)
Following is the official translation of the words written by Sister Maria Lucia dos Santos:
(third part)
J.M.J.
The Third Part of the Secret revealed at the Cova da Iria-Fatima, on July 13, 1917.
I write in obedience to you, my God, who command me to do so through his Excellency
the Bishop of Leiria and through your Most Holy Mother and mine.
After the two parts which I have already explained, at the left of Our Lady and a little
above, we saw an Angel with a flaming sword in his left hand; flashing, it gave out flames
that looked as though they would set the world on fire; but they died out in contact with
the splendor that Our Lady radiated towards him from her right hand: pointing to the
earth with his right hand, the Angel cried out in a loud voice: ‘Penance, Penance,
Penance!'. And we saw in an immense light that is God: ‘something similar to how people
appear in a mirror when they pass in front of it' a Bishop dressed in White ‘we had the
impression that it was the Holy Father'. Other Bishops, Priests, men and women Religious
going up a steep mountain, at the top of which there was a big Cross of rough-hewn trunks
as of a cork-tree with the bark; before reaching there the Holy Father passed through a big city half in ruins and half trembling with halting step, afflicted with pain and sorrow, he
prayed for the souls of the corpses he met on his way; having reached the top of the
mountain, on his knees at the foot of the big Cross he was killed by a group of soldiers
who fired bullets and arrows at him, and in the same way there died one after another the
other Bishops, Priests, men and women Religious, and various lay people of different
ranks and positions. Beneath the two arms of the Cross there were two Angels each with
a crystal aspersorium in his hand, in which they gathered up the blood of the Martyrs and
with it sprinkled the souls that were making their way to God.

Unveiling of Future Events
as Foretold in
Fatima's Third Secret
The events of the third part of the secret of Fatima
are events that have yet to take place.
Both Pope John XXIII and Pope Paul VI had ample opportunity to publish the third part of the secret of Fatima as instructed by sister Lucia. Had they done so the world would have been properly warned of the still coming events and been able to concentrate on dynamically resolving the problems in the hierarchy of the Church. They preferred instead to hold a full Church council that only served to worsen relationships with God within the Church. Had the secret been published and Vatican II not been held, perhaps the threatened destruction and doom would have been averted. As it is, despite the presentations of Pope John Paul and Cardinal Ratzinger, it is believed that these events have yet to occur.
Karol Wojtyla, known as Pope John Paul II, also had the opportunity to avert the coming events. However, he delayed the publication of the third secret and delved more into humanism.1 Instead of using his knowledge and talents to correct problems in the hierarchy, he freely chose to be popular with the world rather than with Christ. As a consequence it is probable that the predicted events will soon occur.
The high number of souls being lost forever to God's kingdom is largely due to Wojtyla's misapplication of God's Word. The souls lost due to the indifference of a high percentage of bishops, priests, and religious are uncountable. It is for this reason that those who have falsely designated themselves as lovers of Christ will be the first among perhaps hundreds of thousands, even multi-millions, of others who will be put to death.2 This will occur when the tragedies taking place in the world become so great that people seek out those who are determined as having been responsible for the great suffering, destruction, and death that has been foretold.
Contrary to the stated position of Pope John Paul, his shooting had nothing to do with the third part of the vision. God allowed him to be shot to call his attention to the errors he was trying to present in an encyclical he had considered ready for publication (On Human Work – Laborem Exercens). During his recovery he revised the encyclical and subsequently issued the corrected version. This fact is affirmed, at least indirectly, in the closing paragraph of the encyclical.
"I prepared this document for publication on last May 15, on the 90th anniversary of the encyclical "Rerum Novarum," but it is only after my stay in the hospital that I've been able to revise it definitively.
Given at Castelgandolfo, on the 14th day of September, the feast of the triumph of the cross, in the year 1981, the third of the pontificate."
He was adequately warned against the direction being taken by reason of his humanism. Even though he corrected the document, he failed to correct his own attitude that led to the assassination attempt. He continued to keep himself focused on human values rather than upon the spiritual values that constituted love of God. True love of God would have effectively achieved the love of neighbors that was his apparent goal. God's way is always preferable to man's inadequate approach. The Church, uniquely established by Jesus our Savior, is about relationships with God. Proper relationships with God have temporal effects that are reached through the utilization of spiritual values.
The reason priests are called father (their obligations relate to those of fatherhood – instruction, leadership, discipline, and provisioning for the present and future) is that they are to be focused on fatherly spiritual leadership. They are to teach and set good examples. They are to spiritually discipline those in their jurisdiction. They are to provision their congregants for activities in this life and for eternal life through the graces available in the seven sacraments.
Pope John Paul is the current high father of the Church specially dedicated, as was Saint Peter himself, to be responsible for the availability of the sound spiritual values of fatherhood. When a pope uses his authority according to the will of God and disciplines as a true father should, the intervention by God –that has occurred by various methods at the hand of God, as presented in Old Testament Biblical history– could be, and, in the future, should be averted.
It seems highly improbable at this late date that the tragedies scheduled to take place can any longer be averted. The main hope at this point is that before the doom and destruction is too far progressed, corrective action will be taken. Such action seems to mean that perhaps high numbers of religious of all ranks and levels will be put to death followed perhaps by great multitudes of public officials and others –false religious leaders, professionals in finance, law, media, medicine and research, and participants in promoting godlessness and injustice– responsible for the many tragic events that have been and are currently taking place.
The greatest consequence of humanism is in relationship to spiritual values which have been lost through rejection of the full word of the one universal God whose values are engraved in the sacred writings. Human nature has not varied since the time of Adam and Eve. It will be the same until the end of time. No amount of education, of social or scientific advancement will ever change basic human nature. God understands this perfectly and instructed humanity for all generations. For those who accept the wisdom, power, omnipresence, omniscience, the unlimited authority of God, with love, and the acceptance of the total value of all of Scripture –including all admonitions, instructions and penalties, from beginning to end (not specifically changed by the coming of Jesus) and the teachings of the New Testament– is not questioned.
It is by reason of the known rejection of the Word of God that it can be stated that much of the hierarchy of the Church –including priests and religious– are effectively in heresy and therefore under ban, that is, under sentence of automatic excommunication. While this does not immediately affect the legal authority of bishops and priests, it does mean that a high percentage of them are rejected as valid moral leaders and subjects for removal in accordance with God's will. [Nm. 25:11]
Many in religious life are not setting the positive examples of trust, faith, and love of God that they should be by virtue of their vocations. National and local leaders, whether in government, professional positions, or in the media, are responsible for their actions under the prohibitions of natural law.3 No one is excused from their offenses by virtue or reason of bad witness given by religious persons.
Apart from direct actions against love of God and of moral law –as found in the commandments, throughout Sacred Scripture, and in the teachings of the one true Church– the great sins of mankind stem from and have been promoted through humanism that has led to feminism and socialism. These positions are directly responsible for the high degree of evil that has become publicly acceptable throughout society. It should be understood that faith in and love of God is always necessary to be able to practice the Word of God.
- Fr. Louis Campbell wrote in his sermon, "Mankind Without a Wedding Garment," for the 19th Sunday after Pentecost, October 19, 2003: Fr. Robert D. Smith (d. Dec.15, 2001) affirms that the doctrine of Universal Salvation is everywhere: "This is the final state of heresy... belief in universal salvation. Universalism. Today, this belief in universal salvation seems to be itself universal… A person, any person, who has died, is spoken of, not in hope but in assurance, as now 'above'…"
Such a change in the space of one generation? Incredible, but true! The heresy of Universal Salvation sprang up in the wake of the Vatican II Revolution. A German theologian, Fr. Johannes Dormann, has done a detailed study of the writings of Karol Wojtyla, a.k.a John Paul II. A careful review by Mark Fellows of Fr. Dormann's work may be found in the October issue of Catholic Family News. I urge you to read it. The article states that Bishop Wojtyla, before assuming the papal office, co-authored the Vatican II document, Gaudium et Spes, with Fr. Henri de Lubac, once censured by Pope Pius XII for his heretical views, who encouraged him in his new way of thinking about salvation. Fellows writes: "Dormann's thesis is that John Paul II is an adherent of universalism, or universal salvation, the belief that (virtually) everyone goes to heaven, whatever their religion. According to Dormann, Karol Wojtyla believed this prior to becoming pope."
- Should or when the threatened destruction and doom takes place, just executions must begin, then continue until God is satisfied. The human race must learn to accept responsibility for both religious and civil leaders in the future. The executions are to continue at the hands of local people until justice has authentically returned to the world. If the people of a local area do not adhere to this admonition, then people from surrounding localities are to step in, takeover, and additionally execute significant numbers of the local indifferent people until the remainder, if any, take the initiative and act righteously.
- Natural law – the natural sense of right and wrong determinable through acceptance of the Golden Rule, "do unto others as you would have them do unto you." – Principles held to be derived from nature and binding upon human society.

The following is a Segmental Breakdown of the third part of the message of
Fatima given to Lucia dos Santos in 1917 A.D. (Anno Domini - Year of our Lord)
The portions of the third secret seen as significant
have been extracted and interpolated as follows:
- at the left of Our Lady and a little above, we saw an Angel with a flaming sword in his left hand;
- left - positioned for doom (Mt. 25:33, 41)
- [Angel with sword] flashing, it gave out flames that looked as though they would set the world on fire;
- for the grave sins of sodomy (Jude 1:6f), murder (Gn. 9:6), heresy, apostasy and schism (Can. 1364), and other grave unpunished crimes an angel of God is prepared to bring destruction and doom upon the world.
- but they died out in contact with the splendour that Our Lady radiated towards him from her right hand: pointing to the earth with his right hand, the Angel cried out in a loud voice: ‘Penance, Penance, Penance!'.
- A time of grace (a temporary opportunity for change to do what is right and just symbolized by the right hands) is given by the mother of Jesus and passed on by the angel with the command to implement the three elements of Penance
- accept personal responsibility for one's own sins - end denial
- with contrition (sorrow for breaking faith with the Lord) confess sins to an ordained priest (Jn. 20:23 – Sacred Scripture must always be interpreted giving precedence to the most authoritatively clear passage.)
- restitution (promote good to substitute for evils committed and allowed to be committed) - all sins are offenses against God's love (failure to love God with one's whole heart, mind, body, and soul – one who loves God will properly love oneself and their neighbor). Accordingly, primary restitution must be made to God. This means that we must be active in the service of God for the good of the Kingdom. Anyone not in the service of God does not have full or proper love of God. Love of God must always take precedence/priority over love of man. Note: Temporal restitution must also be made where and to the degree feasible. Note: There are different types of temporal restitution. Some type of restitution is always available to one who is sincere.)
- And we saw in an immense light that is God: ‘something similar to how people appear in a mirror when they pass in front of it'
- a vision from the glory of God of events scheduled to take place –if necessary change of direction does not take place– due to societies overwhelming participation in evil.
- a Bishop dressed in White... Other Bishops, Priests, men and women Religious going up a steep mountain,
- sinners traveling to destruction –purportedly dedicated to God's service– who had been climbing/working for humanistic goals.
- at the top of which there was a big Cross of rough-hewn trunks as of a cork-tree with the bark;
- at the summit is seen the reason for their doom – a cross of cork that had been made to bob and float, according to the whims of humanity in the sea of life, instead of their following the firmly fixed cross of Christ.
- before reaching there the Holy Father passed through a big city half in ruins
- This forewarns of the coming destruction upon the populace that will finally motivate them to take direct action before they are all doomed.
- and half trembling with halting step.
- afflicted with pain and sorrow, he prayed for the souls of the corpses he met on his way;
- through long standing entanglement with humanistic associations he continues with long established practices known to be pleasing to the natural human mind that is not focused upon God.
- having reached the top of the mountain,
- many of the worldly obtain their desired lofty positions that are in effect positions warranting doom.
- on his knees at the foot of the big Cross he was killed
- he was brought to his knees and terminated for bending
and floating the Word of God for his own goals. He deceived many and paid the temporal penalty for the public tacit approval he gave to evils that brought about the death of many souls. He joins Satan, his true master.
- by a group of soldiers who fired bullets and arrows at him,
- a diverse army of people, that had been afflicted by his indifference to his responsibilities as disciplinary leader (father), bring about his doom.
- and in the same way there died [not martyred in the normal sense of Catholic usage. True martyrs are those who accept persecution and death due to their steadfast love of God. Some also consider martyrs to be the innocent –those who suffer premature loss in relation to building an improved relationship with God– victims of abortion,4 crime, and injustice.] one after another the other Bishops, Priests, men and women Religious, and various lay people of different ranks and positions.
- false witnesses to spiritual values (Vatican cardinals and others who by commission and omission were guilty of heresy or other grave crimes against God that subjected them to automatic excommunication according to the tenants of Canon Law, or guilty of capitol crimes according to the teachings of the Old Testament) were the first to be destroyed by diverse common people in anguish and fear. These were followed by unjust heads of governments, legislators, judges, doctors, lawyers, financiers, media, and unrepentant accomplices.
4 One who denies the full and direct defense of the unborn denies the
fullness of life of the unborn and their value to God. A permanent
eternal spirit exists from the instant of their conception.
- Beneath the two arms of the Cross there were two Angels each with a crystal aspersorium in his hand,
- The angels will use the crystal aspersorium to visually show the blood collected from the righteously condemned. The blood will be used to appease those who had suffered and died for their faith and were now awaiting the vengeance due them at the hand of God's servants.
When he broke open the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of those who had been slaughtered because of the witness they bore to the word of God. They cried out in a loud voice, "How long will it be, holy and true master, before you sit in judgment and avenge our blood on the inhabitants of the earth?" Each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to be patient a little while longer until the number was filled of their fellow servants and brothers who were going to be killed as they had been. [Rev. 6:9-11]
- in which they gathered up the blood of the Martyrs
- The concept "martyrs" here refers to a secondary meaning of the term. In the sense used here it refers to their unrelenting dedication to the evil goals of Freemasonry and associated organizations seeking control of the Church and of the world at large in opposition to the teachings of God.
- and with it sprinkled the souls that were making their way to God.
- This refers to the souls of those who had been slaughtered (martyrs according to normal Catholic usage) because of the witness they bore to the word of God. They now see the vengeance of God being wrought upon their enemies.

Feast of Saint Thomas the Apostle
for all doubting Thomas's
Following are the 1st and 2nd Parts of the Secret given by the Blessed Virgin Mary
to the Children at Fatima in 1917 A.D.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
This will entail my speaking about the secret, and thus answering the first question.
What is the secret?
It seems to me that I can reveal it, since I already have permission from Heaven to do so. God's representatives on earth have authorized me to do this several times and in various letters, one of which, I believe, is in your keeping. This letter is
from Father José Bernardo Gonçalves, and in it he advises me to write to the Holy Father, suggesting, among other things, that
I should reveal the secret. I did say something about it. But in order not to make my letter too long, since I was told to keep it short, I confined myself to the essentials, leaving it to God to provide another more favourable opportunity.
In my second account I have already described in detail the doubt which tormented me
from 13 June until 13 July, and how it disappeared completely during the Apparition on that day.
Well, the secret is made up of three distinct parts, two of which I am now going to reveal.
(first part)
The first part is the vision of hell.
Our Lady showed us a great sea of fire which seemed to be under the earth. Plunged in this fire were demons and
souls in human form, like transparent burning embers, all blackened or burnished bronze, floating about in the conflagration, now raised into the air by the flames that issued from within themselves together with great clouds of smoke, now falling back on every side like sparks in a huge fire, without weight or equilibrium, and amid shrieks and groans of pain and despair, which horrified us and made us tremble with fear. The demons could be distinguished by their terrifying and repulsive likeness to frightful and unknown animals, all black and transparent. This vision lasted but an instant. How can we ever be grateful enough to our kind heavenly Mother, who had already prepared us by promising, in the first Apparition, to take us to heaven. Otherwise, I think we would have died of fear and terror.
(second part)
We then looked up at Our Lady, who said to us so kindly and so sadly:
“You have seen hell where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wishes to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart. If what I say to you is done, many souls will be saved and there will be peace. The war is going to end: but if people do not cease offending God, a worse one will break out during the Pontificate of Pius XI [Pius XI, Feb. 6, Feb. 12, 1922 -- Feb. 10, 1939]. When you see a night illumined by an unknown light, know that this is the great sign given you by God that he is about to punish the world for its crimes, by means of war, famine, and persecutions of the Church and of the Holy Father. To prevent this, I shall come to ask for the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart, and the Communion of reparation on the First Saturdays. If my requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace; if not, she will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred; the Holy Father will have much to suffer; various nations will be annihilated. In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me, and she shall be converted, and a period of peace will be granted to the world”.
From the Theological Commentary by Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger,
Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.
- "prophecy in the biblical sense does not mean to predict the future but to explain the will of God for the present, and therefore show the right path to take for the future."
- "In biblical language, the “heart” indicates the centre of human life, the point where reason, will, temperament and sensitivity converge, where the person finds his unity and his interior orientation. According to Matthew 5:8, the “immaculate heart” is a heart which, with God's grace, has come to perfect interior unity and therefore “sees God”. To be “devoted” to the Immaculate Heart of Mary means therefore to embrace this attitude of heart, which makes the fiat—“your will be done”—the defining centre of one's whole life. It might be objected that we should not place a human being between ourselves and Christ. But then we remember that Paul did not hesitate to say to his communities: “imitate me” (1 Cor 4:16; Phil 3:17; 1 Th 1:6; 2 Th 3:7, 9). In the Apostle they could see concretely what it meant to follow Christ. But from whom might we better learn in every age than from the Mother of the Lord?"
- "Sister Lucia responded by pointing out that she had received the vision but not its interpretation."
Informational Biblical References
- "But to the wicked God says:
"Why do you recite my commandments and profess my covenant with your lips?
You hate discipline; you cast my words behind you!" " [Psalm 50:16-17]
- "Your prophets had for you false and specious visions;
They did not lay bare your guilt, to avert your fate;
They beheld for you in vision false and misleading portents." [Lamentations 2:14]
- "Jonah began his journey through the city, and had gone but a single day's walk announcing, "Forty days more and Nineveh shall be destroyed," when the people of Nineveh believed God; they proclaimed a fast and all of them, great and small, put on sackcloth." [Jonah 3:4-5]
- "Every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down
and thrown into the fire." [Matthew 7:19]
- "You know how to interpret the appearance of earth and sky;
why then do you not know how to interpret the present time?” [Luke 12:56].

"Woe to the shepherds who mislead and scatter the flock of my pasture, says the LORD. Therefore, thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, against the shepherds who shepherd my people: You have scattered my sheep and driven them away. You have not cared for them, but I will take care to punish your evil deeds." [Jeremiah 23:1-2]
Scripture Passage that parallels 3rd Part of Secret: (August 18, 2000)
"Then he cried loud for me to hear: Come, you scourges of the city! With that I saw six men coming from the direction of the upper gate which faces the north, each with a destroying weapon in his hand. In their midst was a man dressed in linen, with a writer's case at his waist. They entered and stood beside the bronze altar. Then he called to the man dressed in linen with the writer's case at his waist, saying to him: Pass through the city (through Jerusalem) and mark an X on the foreheads of those who moan and groan over all the abominations that are practiced within it. To the others I heard him say: Pass through the city after him and strike! Do not look on them with pity nor show any mercy! Old men, youths and maidens, women and children--wipe them out! But do not touch any marked with the X; begin at my sanctuary. So they began with the men (the elders) who were in front of the temple. Defile the temple, he said to them, and fill the courts with the slain; then go out and strike in the city.
As they began to strike, I was left alone. I fell prone, crying out, Alas, Lord GOD! Will you destroy all that is left of Israel when you pour out your fury on Jerusalem?" He answered me: The sins of the house of Israel are great beyond measure; the land is filled with bloodshed, the city with lawlessness. They think that the LORD has forsaken the land, that he does not see them. I, however, will not look upon them with pity, nor show any mercy. I will bring down their conduct upon their heads." [Ezekiel 9:1-10]
When Evil Becomes Good
By Doug Patton - Axcess News – Oct 12, 2003
As a Christian writer, I find myself torn between scripture's admonition
to remain focused on the good and noble aspects of life and its warnings
about society revering evil as good while reviling good as evil.
Last week, yet another outrage came out of the field we once proudly
called "education." The headline read: "University Hosts Bondage Rope
Class," with a subtitle, "British Columbia school features 3-hour course
on 'safety skills.'"
As Dave Barry would say, I am not making this up! And while all of us
have known for some time that the inmates have been running the asylum
at many of North America's once-great institutions of higher learning,
they keep testing our sensibilities with ever-increasing regularity.
The course is a workshop entitled "Bondage 101." It is described as "a
special seminar to teach participants how to use ropes safely in a
sexual context." (I didn't even want to know what is being taught in the
follow-up course, creatively entitled "Bondage 102.")
Of course, this perversion is being sponsored by a homosexual group.
"UVIC Pride" describes itself as "dedicated to representing queer, trans
and intersex people and allies on campus." The workshop is facilitated
by "local bondage experts from the Sagacity Group of Victoria."
On its website, Sagacity describes itself as "a place where folks that
enjoy BDSM, alternative lifestyles, kink and fetish gather to talk,
laugh, socialize, share, and learn. At Sagacity, we welcome each and
every individual and rejoice in sharing our experiences and
friendships."
An e-mail is sent to students enrolling in Bondage 101, providing
students with useful information such as what type of rope to bring to
class and the best places to purchase it, as well as instructions on how
to cut and tape the ends.
Students also receive the following directive on what sort of clothing
to wear for their lessons in sadomasochism: "Loose, baggy garments can
get in the way of ropes, and tight, constricting clothing is totally
unsuitable...Body suits, leotards, bathing suits are all excellent
choices ... nudity is fun too but won't be an option until after the
workshop when you go home...wink!"
Oh well, you say, that's just Canada for you. After all, they just
legalized same-sex marriage, too. They're a little wacky up there. Well,
yes they are, but don't feel too smug just yet. The Des Moines Register
recently reported that a similar type of class is now being offered at
Iowa State University in Ames.
That's right: in Iowa. At a taxpayer-supported state university.
To most Americans, this seems too bizarre to even take seriously. How
many sick people of this ilk can there possibly be?
More than we care to believe, apparently. Last year, Ramada Inns in
Michigan and Illinois hosted sadomasochistic conventions. One, called
"Vicious Valentine," held at the O'Hare Ramada in Chicago, is said to
have broken numerous state laws.
At the Howard Johnson St. Louis Airport hotel, S & M enthusiasts
participated in an orgy called "Beat Me in St. Louis IV."
Not to be outdone, Hilton Hotels has hosted "Tribal Fire" seminars,
which included the following fun and games: "Suturing and Cutting, Body
Punching, Humiliation and Objectification, Puppy Play, Branding,
Pervertables (whatever that is), Fire Play, Electrical Play, Buying the
Right Corset and male and female genital torture workshops."
The nation's largest homosexual lobby group, The Human Rights Campaign,
has sponsored conferences for "female-to-male transgenders." These
little get-togethers included sessions on "chest surgery" for young
women who want to have their breasts removed in their quest to become
"transmen."
Vomited yet? There's more, much more, but I will spare you the details.
This is the whirlwind we are reaping from our "tolerance" of "alternate
lifestyles."
Where will Americans draw the line? At pedophilia? At incest? At
bestiality? At necrophilia? Homosexuals complain bitterly of
"discrimination" and "bigotry" when these questions are raised, yet they
are at the center of this movement to call good "evil" and evil "good."

Induction Procedures Raise Moral Dilemma
National Catholic Register
Oct. 19-25, 2003
by THOMAS A. SZYSZKIEWICZ
Register Correspondent
ANCHORAGE, Alaska - At least two Catholic hospital systems in the United States are performing a procedure known as early induction for fetuses with anomalies incompatible with life.
The morally problematic procedure has been likened to an abortion by some pro-lifers.
Such a procedure is performed on pregnant women whose babies have been diagnosed as having conditions that would make their life outside the womb very short, such as the failure of the brain or kidneys to develop.
Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage and Loyola University Health System in Chicago have both stated they perform this procedure at or after 24 weeks of pregnancy, the time when a baby is usually considered to be viable.
The protocol is in place for the other three parts of Providence’s 31-hospital system, in Washington, Oregon and California.
Early inducement is not an uncommon procedure. It brings on labor before term (usually considered 37 weeks or after) for any number of reasons, usually for the medical care of either the mother or the child.
However, in early induction for fetuses with anomalies incompatible with life, the induction is done because the child has anomalies that make it virtually impossible for the child to live for very long, if at all, after birth.
Alaska Right to Life’s president, Ed Wassell, along with two other members of Alaska Right to Life, met in May with the chief executive of the Providence Alaska system, Al Parrish, staff ethicist Maria Wallington, and Gene O’Hara, vice president for mission. The hospital officials admitted openly to the group that they do perform these procedures at or after 24 weeks of pregnancy.
Right to Life informed Archbishop Roger Schwietz that these inductions were taking place at Providence.
He and his group met again with hospital officials in July, arguing about the use of early induction. The former vicar general of the archdiocese, Father Steven Moore, was present at the July meeting, and the ethicist for the entire Providence system, an Episcopalian named Jan Heller who is based at its Seattle office, participated by speakerphone.
Wassell told the Register that he asked a number of times during the meeting what the reasons were for performing these inductions, a question for which he could not get a clear answer. Officials did admit they were being done for anencephaly and renal agenesis, a condition where kidneys fail to form, he said, but they did not say what other reasons there are.
Officials from both Providence Health System and the Archdiocese of Anchorage turned down requests for interviews on this subject. They did, however, issue this brief joint statement Sept. 29:
“Earlier this year, Ed Wassell, president of Alaska Right to Life, approached Al Parrish, executive of Providence Health System in Alaska, requesting clarification on the early induction practices and guidelines of Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage.
“After further consultation with ethicists, Providence Health System, in collaboration with Anchorage Archbishop Roger Schwietz, determined that the practices are consistent with the [U.S. bishops’] Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services. Providence leadership continues to be in dialogue with Archbishop Schwietz to assure that guidelines in development reflect Catholic teachings.”
Wassell denied that he was “seeking clarification” on the procedure. “We were asking them to end the use of the procedure at the hospital,” he said.
‘Morally Problematic’
The Church teaches that it is always wrong directly to will the destruction of innocent human life. But it is not always wrong to perform an action that causes harm to human life as a side effect.
However, the decision must be based on the principle of double effect: What you do must be morally acceptable in itself. If it has a bad consequence:
- you can’t seek good from that bad consequence;
- the bad consequence must not be intended;
- there must be a sufficient balance between the good effect and the bad effect.
The only therapeutic reason given by hospital officials for early induction was “to relieve familial distress,” according to Wassell.
Providence officials did tell Wassell that if Archbishop Schwietz told them to stop performing the procedure, they would.
From then on, Wassell said, Right to Life stopped talking with the hospital and started talking with the archbishop to persuade him to take action.
