Dear Person Who Wrote the Article on Population Control:
I agree with your concept of populating the universe as a noble goal of
mankind. But we need to devolop the technology first. At this rate, we will
be overpopulated before we develop the technology to explore the universe and
find new planets. God would expect us to control our population until we are
able to leave the planet, which won't be for hundreds (thousands?) of years.
God gave us the wisdom to plan ahead, and we should put that wisdom to good
use. We will soon be suffering the consequences of overpopulation because of
nearsighted reasoning like yours.
Please provide a thoughtful response. No need to be defensive.

During this century we have gone from the horse and buggy to investigating close up the planets at the outer rim of the solar system. Planets outside of our solar system have now been located. Computer technology is advancing so rapidly it is impossible for anyone but the wealthy to have the most modern off-of-the-shelf model.
It is now estimated that by the year 2030 there will be a global population decline. Many countries are now below the replacement level of births.
Twenty years ago it was believed that there was insufficient food and fuel to feed and take care of the then existing population. Today, except for distribution and political problems, there are worldwide surpluses. It has been reasonably estimated that this planet could sustain 5 to 10 times its present population.
Believers accept the command of God, "Be fertile and multiply." Those with open minds have learned to accept the word of God as permanently valid.
Non-believers need to open minded to the advances in science and the potential of science. Truly open minded people will recognize that the future lies in its youth and the potential of the human race in both this life and the next.
Should you respond, please identify your beliefs in relation to God so that I may understand the origin of your perspective.

P.S. Population growth has always been the chief motivation for migration, research and development. Population control can only be seen as a desire for stagnation.
