To Whom Shall We Go?
Imagine, if you will, a major corporation whose CEO has clearly laid out a mission statement, strategies, policies etc. Imagine that same CEO pledging to remain committed to the principles and guidelines of the company's founder. Now imagine the majority of middle and lower management disregarding the agenda and instructions of the CEO and picking and choosing the policies and procedures they personally favor. Now, imagine the CEO refusing to discipline the rebellion of lower management and attempting to bypass them by speaking directly to the stockholders and clientele. This would result in a chaotic, divided, weak and declining company.
Such a situation exists in the Roman Catholic Church today. Jesus Christ established his Church upon Peter; and all the most ancient churches agree that the Roman pontiffs are the successors of Peter. (Matthew 16.18) Jesus Christ himself associated the word Church with Peter, therefore where Peter is there is the Church. We have a Pope, John Paul II, who through his travels, encyclicals, and the Catechism has clearly spelled out the moral and doctrinal teachings of the Catholic Church. Yet, in this age only a small percentage of bishops are 100% committed to the Holy Father and the teachings of the Catholic Church. Another small percentage are unabashed apostates and heretics. The vast majority of priests and bishops though are ‘cafeteria' Catholics who pick and choose Church teachings according to their own whims.
The Pope has vigorously defended Humanae Vitae and condemned contraception. In The Splendor of Truth he reemphasizes that homosexual practice, fornication, and adultery are still mortal sins. He has stated ‘ex cathedra' that women will never be ordained.
Yet, having been a Catholic 8 years, I have never heard the word ‘contraception' mentioned from a pulpit in Mississippi. Those who engage in the wickedness of divorce and remarriage are coddled and consoled rather than confronted. Never, from any pulpit in the U.S. have I ever heard homosexual practice condemned! We Americans for the most part have to listen to generic, protestantized, feminist, socialist, do-gooder pep talks rather than the clear proclamation of genuine Roman Catholic doctrine. Sermons appear constructed to avoid saying anything of substance at all, lest someone be offended in their sin.
The Pope has made a serious mistake in not disciplining rebellion in the Church. Having said all this, people often ask me why I stay. My answer, ‘To whom shall we go?' (John 6.68). Only the Roman Catholic Church (in it's official teachings), addresses all of the issues modem Man is facing. Since 1926, the Protestants and Orthodox have capitulated to the forces of darkness and accepted contraception. The Protestants are in disarray because of ‘Sola Scriptura,' forming new denominations every day. The United Methodists and Episcopal ‘churches' are pro-aborts. The Charismatics have apparently lost their collective mind. (One of their latest practices is to have laughing sessions and call it worship). From their pulpits resound a message of financial
gain, while the world is going to hell around them.
Evangelicals are roaming around South America spreading contraception and working with Planned Parenthood (the worlds largest abortion provider). The Orthodox believe only in the first 7 councils, and despite their preservation of the most beautiful liturgies, are caught in a time warp and are theologically and morally irrelevant.
Theologically and morally, only the Catholic Church is correct on every point. Faithful Catholics, both clergy and laity, will remain to the end. They will not abandon the ‘bark of Peter' in it's hour of crisis, no matter how many false brethren embrace Bernardinism: that generic socialist pabulum that passes for religion nowadays. Faithful Catholics must not be fair-weathered friends.
Truth is truth. Right is right. Wrong is wrong. In these last days the three Catholic doctrines which set the Church apart are: the Papacy, the Eucharist, and Mary. The Magisterium, in union with the Pope is the only safeguard against moral relativism. Sadly, most Catholics have to deal with a serious gap between Catholic teaching and Catholic practice. But the truth of Catholic Dogma is in no way diminished by this great falling away.
The Eucharist is not a pious symbol to be carried out occasionally, but the source of Life. Thankfully, the orthodoxy of priests does not change the efficacy of the Sacrament. Mary is needed desperately as a weapon against modem feminism. In her humility and submission to God's will she has set the standard for Christian womanhood, and stands in stark contrast to the envious, power grabbing feminist ideology found among rebel ‘Catholics' today.
Much to the chagrin of the Amchurch, faithful Catholics are here to stay. The rebels will call us extremists for believing in the Catholicism they themselves were raised in, but which they have betrayed. Judas was a bishop too, you know.
Faithful Catholics pray, pray, pray. Work to free yourselves from all sin. To the modernist rebels we say that with God's grace we will never buy into your apostasy. We won't back down. Our Lady warned of these days at Fatima. And Jesus said, "When the Son of Man returns, will he find any faith on the earth?" (Luke 18.8). He consecrated the Church with his own blood, to her we are pledged by our Faith. Even so, Come Lord Jesus!
May the Peace of Our God the Lord Jesus Christ and the Prayers of Our Dear Blessed Mother Mary be with you always,
/s/
