PRO-LIFE LEADERS CONDEMN
ANTHRAX THREATS AT ABORTION CLINICS
WASHINGTON (CNS) - A spokeswoman for the U.S. bishops' Secretariat for Pro-Life Activities sharply condemned the recent rash of anthrax threats sent to abortion clinics. "Violence in the name of pro-life makes a mockery of the pro-life cause," said Cathy Cleaver, the secretariat's director of planning and information. "We don't know who is behind the suspicious letters going out to abortion clinics, but we unequivocally condemn the use of any form of violence to oppose abortion," she told Catholic News Service Oct. 19. "Just as we abhor the violence of abortion, we abhor violence as a means to stop abortion," she added.
The Catholic Church and its legal temporal head (John Paul II) calls abortion murder. MURDER is the unjust taking/killing of an innocent human life from the instant of conception onward. There can be no more of an innocent person than a life in its mother's womb. Such life is fully a spiritual being from the instant of conception. Its intended human form is fully determined at this same instant. Scientifically a human being exists at conception, and, as the spirit is not determinable through physical science the human status is determined by reason of genetic structure. NOTE: The Constitution of the United States of America recognizes the personhood of unborn people but does not grant citizenship until birth. All people, whether citizen or not, have legal protection of the law according to the Constitution. The Supreme Court, Cathy Weaver, humanistic bishops, and others have perverted this protection in regard to unborn persons. In so doing they have morally become accomplices in murder.
From conception onward the human person requires nourishment and shelter. This requirement is the same for both the born and unborn with the only difference being that of place of residence.
The nests (early residences) of seals, darter fish, beach mice, eagles, and other endangered lower life forms are given protection by law by way of fines and even imprisonment. The egg of an endangered bird is protected even though it has not yet shown signs of growing into its ultimate form. A baby in the womb has no less existence than the contents of an endangered bird egg in non-developed visual bird form. A surrogate mother furnishes only food, shelter, and temporary protection to the baby in her womb. The DNA of the baby is that of its natural mother and father.
For Catholic bishops not to admonish and correct the position publicly announced by Cathy Cleaver is an admission by the bishops that regardless of what is stated in Church teachings they do not believe that a real human being exists in the womb of its mother. Such failure is condemnable.
As threats of violence do not even fall into the category of violence, Ms. (an intended insult as no woman should be ashamed of being referred to as either Miss or Mrs. as either can be a holy state of life) Weaver's position is a statement that the murder of preborn human beings cannot even be deterred by non-violent means. Does she consider that there are any direct means that can be used to deter murder by abortion? The 100 to 200 million militant Muslims at least commonly wait until after birth to murder their victims (the term "victims" refers not only to Christians, Jews, Buddhists, and Hindus, but also to Muslims of opposing factions within Islam.).
God has often sanctioned violence and has been the direct cause of violence. The great flood, the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, the drowning of the Egyptians in the red (reed) sea, the killing of Korah, Dathan, Abiram, their followers and families, and the doomed in the promised land among others. In the New Testament the killing (not murder) of Ananias and his wife Sapphira for lying. (Keep in mind the definition of murder: the killing of innocent human beings. None of the mentioned people were considered innocent by God.)
There is no greater violence than that rendered to those who are condemned to Hell by God. Violence must be considered in the light of justice. Violence to stop an unjust aggressor has always been accepted as proper. The key to understanding defense in relation to the unborn has to do with the reality that the spirit of the unborn person is just as important to God as the spirit of a 20 to 50 year old adult. In regard to those who have not yet had the opportunity to establish a positive or negative relationship with God, it should be understood that their lives are to be protected to a far greater extent than those where spiritual relationship has already been determined.
