BOOKS OF INTEREST

  • "THAT THEY MAY BE ONE - To heal the scandal of the fragmented Church" - by Charles W. Moore.  This book presents the historical background of Christian separation. It also presents arguments intended to promote the restoration of Christian unity. Mr. Moore gives his background as follows:
"My own family background is Baptist, and I became a Christian believer through the ministry of Protestant evangelism. However, a subsequent quarter-century of scriptural, theological, and historical inquiry has led me to conviction that division of the Christian Church into competing camps--Orthodox/Catholic and Protestant--cannot be God's will."
Mr. Moore is currently a member of the Anglican Catholic Church of Canada, which is part of the international Traditional Anglican Communion (TAC).

  • A Time to Kill - by "Michael Bray"

  • . . . . . "This book presents a rather convincing argument for the use of force in the defense of the unborn. I find myself on the horns of a personal dilemma in this regard. I have some personal conscience issues that would prevent me from the active use of force. Yet I would not condemn those whose conscience has led them in the other direction. I hope this book receives the serious attention it deserves."

. . . . . About the Author - Michael Bray studied in Stuttgart, Germany, received a baccalaureate degree from Rockmount College in 1975, and a master's degree from the Denver Seminary in 1980. Bray was married to his wife Jayne in 1976 and is the father of seven children. He is co-founder of the Bowie, Maryland, Crisis Pregnancy Center, and has been co-founder and co-pastor of the Reformation Lutheran Church in Bowie since 1984.
. . . . . From 1985 until 1989 Rev. Bray was imprisoned following the destruction of seven abortion facilities in D.C., Maryland, Virginia, and Delaware. He is also one of the prevailing defendants in the Supreme Court case known as Bray v. Alexandria.

  • To Train Up A Child - by "Michael & Debbie Pearl"

  • . . . . . Many parents simply have no idea of how to train a child effectively. Many parents refuse to use corporal punishment and others exceed what is reasonably necessary; at times punishing to the extent of brutality and even death. With a little effort a child can be both well trained and well balanced while at the same time being a happy child who gets along with his or her siblings. A properly trained child, even a small one, can be a pleasure to take visiting in circumstances that others might dread. While the author's theological reflections can and at times should be questioned, his insight into child rearing seems extremely well balanced and should be useful to any parent having troubles with one or many children (If my recollection is correct, these Amish parents and authors have 13 children and they enjoy them very much). In general his biblical quotes and insights are excellent.
    RELIGIOUS LEADERS TAKE NOTE:
. . . . . Reflections on the content of this short easy to read book should be effective in helping a sincere religious leader to understand his own short comings in regard to those under his authority. The Old Testament reveals a continuing cycle of sin, discipline, and return to the faith followed by a period of general well being until sin again gains a foothold. Leadership has lost sight of this historical fact. Most everyone wants complete freedom and happiness now. Appeasement, diplomacy, and political correctness become the names of the game. Little consideration is given to future happiness in consideration of what is necessary to have long term good.
. . . . . Excerpts from Chapter 1 furnish an insight into the content and usefulness of the book. Click on Ordering for information on how to obtain this reasonably priced book either singly or in volume. I and the woman who referred the book to me are making up a combined order for 20 copies.

Since 1987, he has led over 120 rescues, including Eastern Europe's first two. He has spent almost a year in jail and continues to live and rescue in Atlanta. Copyright 1992.

  • PAS - Stories of Family Destruction - by Eleanor Ramsey, et al. The authors are women who have been active for many years in both Pre and Post Abortion counseling (two of them have had one or more abortion experiences). The book includes a multiplicity of real life stories of experiences with the aftermath of abortion.
These are verifiable stories that church and government officials should reflect upon. Clergy, psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers active in, or training for, family and individual counseling would do well to read and learn. Many of the most troubled patients, both male and female (including siblings, other family members, and associates), are suffering from the consequences of abortion. It should be kept in mind that there is a very high degree of denial for 20 or more years involved with Post Abortion Syndrome trauma. It may well be that most professionals do not understand the underlying causes with which they are dealing.
This copyrighted book may be viewed on line or printed for personal use only. See the main index under "PAS" (Post Abortion Syndrome) for additional stories and commentaries.

Catholic Teachings Concerning Life and Defense of Innocent Life
  • Gospel of Life (Evangelium Vitae) - John Paul II's Encyclical Letter On the Value and Inviolability of Human Life. This document contains important doctrine in regard to the defense of the unborn. ISBN: 1-55586-316-7.
  • Catechism of the Catholic Church - Section on the Commandment, "You Shall Not Kill," with commentary by Fr. Trosch. The full Catechism may be found in many book stores throughout Christendom. If there is a problem finding a copy either call the office of the local bishop or send me an e-mail.
  • Of Human Life (Humanae Vitae) - This is the formal teaching of the Catholic Church in regard to birth control and other life issues. This universal encyclical letter was issued by Pope Paul VI in 1968.
  • Code of Canon Law - Latin / English Edition. Published by the "Canon Law Society of America." Vatican Latin Text First published 1983. ISBN: 0-943616-19-0 (Flexible binding)

  • Few people realize that the internal affairs of the Catholic Church are governed by strict legal codes and that the Church has a formal judicial system. It is unfortunate that often those responsible for enforcing correct teaching are lax. If more Catholics of faith understood the official doctrine and laws of the Church, then few priests and bishops would be comfortable enough to work against God's will. Both law and doctrine could use substantial development, but it is workable as is, particularly if there were a sufficient number of men of faith interested in it enough to want what there is to work.
